In December my wife and I spent one night at the Lodge at the Wisp. The total room cost for 1 night was $277.00. There were many issues with the room including cleanliness, safety and convenience. In the bathroom, there was a substance on the wall and door that I couldn't identify, there was a black, dirty, mouldy substance on the floor against the wall and bathtub that could have actually needed to be scraped of and brushed hard to remove. There was like a confetti on the carpeted floor that could have been removed if the carpet had been vacuumed, but it was missed. On the safety side, there was a receptacle behind the one mattress that was missing the cover plate. One irritating problem that never got resolved was the tv remote control. It wouldn't work. The batteries were dead. I obtained new batteries from the from desk 3 times and they were all dead. Finally, the lady went and got all the remote controls that she could find and there wasn't one of them that had any fresh batteries in them. By that time, there was no where to go to buy some fresh batteries. This sounds like a small issue, but it really was truly inconvenient. I don't recommend this hotel to anyone. We will never stay there again. Any other hotel in Deep Creek would put this room to shame! I have photos of all this but I don't see a place to...
Read moreThe room: It was a decent size and had a microwave, mini fridge, and sink. We had a couch and an ok bed. The AC didn't work great and the room felt muggy even with it on full blast.||||Construction: No one warned us when we checked in that they were replacing the roof... right above our room on the top floor. The went until 5pm on Friday and were back at it before 8:30am on Saturday morning. It was so loud it felt like they were hammering into my skull. And the ladder was right outside our window so occasionally we'd see someone going past. ||||Breakfast: Left a lot to be desired. It was all pre-made, thawed things like muffins, some instant oatmeal, and either a banana or orange. Nothing with protein or really fresh.||||The hotel: Definitely dated and could use a good spruce. There didn't seem to be AC in the halls for the rooms so as you went up three floors, you could feel the wall of heat. ||||The service: The woman working the front desk when we checked in was amazing. The 3 ladies ahead of us were extra and she had more patience than I'll ever possess. ||||The location: Great for a weekend adventure for our anniversary. Easy to get to the creek for kayaking, great food nearby, and some...
Read moreI went with my bf to celebrate valentines. Rooms are 1 star. The hallway to rooms smelled like mildew. You can hear the people upstairs moving furniture (if you know what I mean). And then inside the room you can hear people on the hallway. And you can see the ceilings open in the bathroom. The shower head had limescale, water got outside of the tub, tiny shampoo and conditioner bottles, and the sink wasn’t in the bathroom- it was outside of it and had to open a door to open it. Then the TV stand is weirdly placed because the tv is small, why is it put in the middle of the room? It’s inconvenient to watch on the couch and on the bed. And the internet connection sucked. It was so slow. The bed wasn’t clean or has lints of random...
