This is the best place for steamed bun in Oakland Chinatown! My family and I have been going here for many years and we have always enjoyed their pork buns, "big" buns (contains egg, chicken, seasoned pork, and Chinese sausage), cabbage & pork buns, and custard buns. For us, their steamed bread products are really what shine here, the bread is fluffy & soft without being too sweet or dry and the fillings are well-seasoned, fresh, and plentiful. Yummy Dim Sum was closed for a while for remodeling and our family had to try other places in Chinatown for steamed buns and all the others were not even close to the quality of this place. After remodeling, their prices were raised a bit (around $1 to $1.50 per item), but their prices are still very affordable and honestly, I don't think any small shops in the Bay Area can survive charging any less than they do at the moment. Furthermore, the shopkeepers are very nice and patient when we go there, which is always a nice plus for to-go shops such as this.
