Back in the days me and my homies would stay out late party all night long eating early hours of morning. That was party and mob life until our place got raided and our international connection also went down. This was back when this place was ABC Bakery for those that don't know. Certainly not fond memories, but that's what this seat means to me that I'm seated at tonight. Sobo Ramen Pop-up is operated from 9 p.m. to midnight on fri/sat only with shared space from their regular ramen joint. You can sit at counter or table no guarantee if it's busy though. Workers just transition over once other is closed up. Pop-up menu isn't as extensive, but cover most basic dishes and bowl. Ramen was decent at this time of the night more flavors than their normal seating side. Broth was f*cking delicious that I actually tip bowl and drink it. The lychee cocktail was pretty good and strong with a plump juicy lychee floating on top. I enjoy my late night ramen meal and won't mind returning for other cocktails. Well, that's a introduction of who I am and what I did in the past. I've clean up my life running numerous successful business in vegas and soon one in the bay area too. #oaklandchinatown #pacificrenaissance #garageparking #goodservicefromstaff #quickbitewithminimalwaittime #cashorcreditaccepted #strongcocktail #limitedmenuoption...
Read moreIn so glad this place opened up for dine in again! I was here a few times pre-pandemic and I gotta say they still have the same great service and food.
I decided to go here twice last week. The first day I had the Tan-Tan Ramen with chicken karage. The chicken was super tender and the dipping sauce they had was great. It was lemony and complimented the chicken really well. The Ramen was also superb. The chili noodles had the right amount of spice where I could still taste everything in the dish and I really liked the broth.
The day after I went back and got the Country Ramen as well as the vegetable gyoza. The gyoza had a nice shell (not thick at all) and the filling had a really nice flavor. This Ramen was also super good. The broth had a nice flavor profile and had some depth to it. I'm glad I went back a second time to enjoy something else I had my eye one.
Both times they also gave me a complimentary 3 piece fried gyoza as well that was a great addition. I was super happy with the wait staff and I'm definitely going back...
Read moreWe got really cold watching the sunset over San Francisco and decided the best way to warm up was with some ramen. After a quick check, we decided on Sobo Ramen since it was close-by and still open at 8pm. We were greeted right away when we entered and we're told to take our time looking over the menu. We decided on the Tonkotsu ramen with black sesame oil, and Spicy Miso. We were told it would take 10 minutes for our food to be ready so we ordered a beer for the wait ( theres a collaboration beer sold there). Our food was done sooner than the 10 minute window provided which we were happy about, and we were also given some extra freebies which we weren't aware of until we got home. Our drive took about 15 minutes but the broth was still piping hot as was the rest of our food. The packaging was sturdy and looked cute too which made the meal feel like we were dining out at home. We will definitely go to Sobo Ramen again in the...
