Crown chicken and gyro — Restaurant in Oaklyn

This place used to be 5 stars until they changed management or workers.

The new guys are rude to customers over the phone. Service has gone from a 4/5 down to a 1.

They now charge a 4% surcharge on credit transactions.

Food quality has gone down considerably, from a 4/5 to a 2 at best. Fries are a cheaper brand, not the crispy fries we liked so much before. They do not know how to cook rice properly. Their sauces are considerably lower in quality or watered down. They give you poorer cuts of chicken which aren't fried as carefully as the previous owners.

To top it off, they cheat you on the bill. I ordered chicken alone, and they charged me for chicken and fries. I'll be disputing this with my credit card issuer and never buying here again. (They willingly charged me inappropriately after I pointed it out in the store before leaving. This was not an honest mistake.)

Let me say first, I LOVE their Gyro's! The ONLY reason I am giving them a 1 star review is... I have ordered 5 times now asking that the Gyro have no Hot Sauce (on a Gyro???) or Tzatziki Sauce (sorry but I like it on the side) and EVERY time when I come to get my order it is wrong.....and then you wait 10 -15 minutes and they make you another.

It has not mattered that the last 3 times I have said when ordering...Please make sure you get this order correct or I am not coming back, I am not even ordering at busy times, they just KEEP failing....

So, If you like your lamb Gyro with hot sauce, Tzatziki Sauce, lettuce, tomato, onions and green peppers, order one, you will not be disappointed but if you have any "special" requests... find...

I used to go here every day, but I had stopped for a while due to moving. When I was back in the area this week, I went here for lunch a few times. Unfortunately it seems there’s new management, or new workers, or something has changed. They now charge your card more than what they tell you in store. You order a single gyro, they increase it to a fry/drink combo without telling you. They no longer have the nice crispy fries they’re known for in this area. They ignore special requests, tomato allergies for example. I’m not sure what happened, but this isn’t the excellent gyro place I remember.
