Hands down the best cafe in the lower half of New Jersey. I drive 20 minutes just to work remotely here because it's that good.
Food: Amazing selection of drinks even if you don't drink coffee. The matchas are great, and there's both sweet and savory options. The quiches are delicious. And the oatmeal bake is great because its got lots of oats and not too sweet like most American desserts.
Hours: One of most common issues I find with local cafes is that they open late and close early because they only cater to the "rush hour" crowds...which is very inconvenient for remote workers like me. Common grounds opens at 7am on everyday but Sunday (8am), which works great for morning people like me.
-Prices: The prices are all super affordable. It's one of the only palces I can got a matcha latte with non-dairy milk for less than $5. Teas are also affordable.
-People: The staff is always super friendly and helpful in explaining everything and the other customers are also friendly.
Overall, an amazing cafe that's well worth checking out. The only downside is that occasionally my favorite seat gets filled but the crowds are just testament to the amazing job that Common...
Read moreFirst time visiting this coffee house which I drive by all the time but I do not stop and walk in. I ordered a cup of black coffee(sugars and other additives to one's liking are all available). The house blend coffee was superb, with no after taste. Just a flow of the best house coffee I have tasted in a very long time. I love dinners coffee, but the blends used to make just this simple home brew was smooth, not bitter or overwhelming. 10 stars for the simplest coffee available. I can not wait to splurge and try the different savory flavors offered here. Well this is a local business and more businesses like this can flourish in a borrow like Oaklyn. Here's coffee to all that will try this brew and leave a happy camper. Second visit, and vuala, my experience here surpassed the first. Adian will greet you and take you on trip that makes your appitte senses shiver. The teas and coffees will be a one time taste, and you will be back for more. Lounge and sit with an ambience of comfort. Come on, try it you'll love it. Before you take that trip to purchase a cup of java, try Common Grounds one time, and your taste buds will...
Read moreI am updating this review because we had to stop going to this store. One of the things I ask for everytine is for my latte to be extra hot. The response from who I guess is the owner and the girls in there were annoying noises and eye rolling. This time I got it all. Who I believe to be the owner or at least manager commented that their drinks are always a certain temperature.
My husband responded, ok I’m just asking for it to be a little hotter. She rolled her eyes and made a comment under her breath. We have been dealing with the comments and air of frustration coming from them when we asked for it but this was much worse. I love their drinks but I won’t go to a place where they act like I’m asking for too much.
Original Review: We stopped in for a latte and we were not disappointed. I ordered an extra hot vanilla latte and my husband ordered a hazelnut coffee with a shot of espresso. Both drinks were excellent and the counter person was very friendly and seemed to be running the place. Aside from lattes they seemed to have a lot of food made right there on the premises. We will...
