Leone's Pizza — Restaurant in Oakmont

Giving two stars solely because I really do like their pizza.

Going to start out by saying that I have worked in the service industry my entire life, including waitressing/food service. I am never quick to complain, love to offer compliments and praise where I can, I am patient and a generous tipper.

My fiance and I moved to Oakmont in 2020, and we are fortunate to have so many great spots so close to home.

Last weekend I ordered takeout from Leone's, and I probably should have hung up as soon as they answered the phone (seemingly annoyed that I called their business). I was quoted 40 minute wait, I showed up after 50 minutes and my food wasn't ready (no biggie). There was an angry customer ahead of me in line, and the people dining in seemed to be looking around for service/food as well.

I asked how much longer they estimated for my order and I was simply and aggressively told "no idea," so I sat in my car for an another 15 minutes. When I came back in to see if my food was ready, the girl at the front desk had to take her ear buds out of her ears to hear as if she was bothered by me asking for an update (which is a little unsettling in itself to be honest while handling food), and she walked back to kitchen probably three times while I stood there with zero communication or acknowledgement.

The times we are living in are tough, and I know that most places are struggling to find workers. If I see someone working hard, they could probably do anything shy of spitting in my food and I would still have a smile on my face. My issue is being treated like a bother over and over again as paying customer.

Like I said, there are many delicious restaurants (not to mention pizza places) in Oakmont, so I personally will be taking my...

UPDATE I've been meaning to update this review for a while now. After some thought, I decided that it wasn't entirely fair to post this review based solely on the delivery. Therefore, I continued to try their food and have had nothing but good experiences. The salads, pizza, and wings are very good. I think the prices are reasonable, as well, and I haven't had any further issues with delivery. Perhaps deep dish pizza isn't really appropriate for delivery, anyway. I've upped my rating to 5 stars.

I wanted to try Leone's deep dish. I called at 8:00 pm...asked if they were delivering and if it was too late to order. The girl who took the order (a deepdish supreme and a large garden salad) was very nice. I told her I was in no hurry whatsoever. Pizza arrived 50 minutes later, which was fine. She had said it might be an hour or more. I accepted the order, signed slip , and gave the delivery person a tip ($10). As he walked away, I noticed grease all over the cement. I carried the pizza to the stove and I opened it. All of the toppings/sauce/cheese were in 2/3 of the pizza. A sizable chunk of cheese was in the box, outside of the pizza. One corner of the box was soaked ...dripping grease (which was all over me from carrying the pizza about 10 ft). So...I haven't even tasted it yet. Presentation alone was enough to turn me off. $50 bucks for a big mess and a salad. You can bet I'm regretting...

What's up with this pizza? It's looks old and it looks like someone took a piece out and replaced it with a smaller piece from a different pizza. Please contact me about a refund.when a replacement pizza was brought out, the person who brought the pizza out was still defending the initial awful pizza saying all of the pizzas look that way. Doubting that the replacement pizza would be edible, we requested a refund. Allegedly the owner issued a refund but didn't know how to work the computer system so this was done without any proof of a refund.

We went back to get a replacement pizza and the man who talked to us on the phone and approached us about this issue and told us we were making it up and was trying to claim that it is how the pizzas always are and this is normal.

The person working the front counter claimed that this is just how pizzas from this store look and that it's normal for the pieces to not line up.

If you want pizza in Oakmont, it's definitely recommended to go anywhere else. If this place had good pizza at some point, it...
