WOW whoda thunk?
I don't go to this corner of the universe much; we used to go to Carnivores for company xmas dinner; food was good but not much other reason to make the trek.
Vinnie's is warm and welcoming; a mid-to-better sports bar. Lotsa TVs, 2 floors. Brisk on a Monday night; lots of people with wings. Got there about 7:30p.
Driving by, other establishments also looked welcoming; why Vinnies?
Wings. Monday night, u$1 whole wings. Basic flavors; tho, last night there were a couple special ones.
I generally like to go alone; last night was no exception. Sitting at the bar generally gets the best service and doesn't take up a table.
They didn't have any of my beers (High Life, PBR, nothing on draft appealed tho they did have good options) so got seltzer.
Wings came out quickly on a plate appropriate for the place. 12 wings; yeah, that pile of deliciousness for u$12. Cooked crunchy on outside, moist on inside. Sauce was spot-on (hot, which is Buffalo hot). Someone near got fries that also looked yam so got some for Son for home.
My only gripe is the AWOL bartender. After she brought me silver and napkins, nary a word between us thereafter. Even once, she stood w/ her back to me talking to others at our end of the bar, then walked away, ignoring my empty glass. She was still at the bar; just stood at the other end.
I was able to enlist the other servers and a kitchen person, fortunately, but still it took 10 minutes to get a check.
So, next time, I'll take a table. The two servers seemed competent in keeping the people at their tables happy. I don't like to do this; take a table for one person but it doesn't make sense for me to sit at bar when the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent there on Easter and it was great there was so much food I had enough for a cpl days and everyone at work was asking where I got my surf and turf. Then I went back after church again on Mother's day and I don't know what happened, but I got half the portion that I did on Easter of everything! The waitress was young and didn't seem to want to be there. I ordered the surf and turf and believe me I got scammed! There aint no way that was worth $30... the steak was in a little bowl the size of a small teacup and the shrimp shrunk in size & number from a cpl weeks before! The waitress didn't give any dinner rolls, š I paid for a chicken meal to take home so I didn't have to cook anything for lunch the following day. I didn't look at it (big mistake) until morning when I was packing my lunch for work! Ewe it was all burnt!!! I got deviled eggs for a side for both meals and she charged me fricken $3.50 each! How can say it's a side that comes with the meal and then charge for it? I was very disappointed with the whole entire meal. I'm going to tell them at work not to go now its a big sham. They need to hire people that want to work & stay consistent with the portion size. I might try it again at some point, but I will not pay over $75 for crap again. Step it up guys. I would love to spot a pic of it, but I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOh wow, another incredible night at this placeāwhere they love to disappoint. The upstairs? Forget about it. Itās basically a mythical land at this point because itās never open. Why have a fun, lively space with a dance floor and a bar when you can force everyone to awkwardly stand around downstairs, which feels more like a half-hearted restaurant with a DJ desperately trying to make it feel exciting?
And letās talk about the bartenders. If youāve ever wanted to feel deeply unwelcome while trying to order a drink, this is the place for you. The attitude, the eye rolls, the sheer disgust on their faces when you dare to ask for a drinkāitās honestly impressive. Youād think I walked in and asked them to donate a kidney, not make a margarita.
Overall, this place is a perfect choice if you enjoy overpriced drinks, zero energy, and staff who act like theyāre being held hostage. If thatās your vibe, congratsāyouāve found your new...
