Bistro Bella Luna — Restaurant in Oberlin

We just had the most marvellous dinner at Bistro La Bella Luna in Oberlin, which has only been open for three weeks. The Scicilian mussles in fresh, cooked tomato broth with a plentitude of olives, both black and green olives, was a delicious starter that whetted, but didn't overwhem our appetites. My husband's braised beef ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and rich with a handmade demi-glace, served with Savoy potatoes and perfectly steamed asparagus. My Norwegian salmon with lemon butter caper sauce was amazing, perfectly cooked, with balanced flavors from the lemon, fish and spicey capers that beautifully complimented the pearled lemon cous cous. We both ate every bite, then made a rare indulgence in desert: an amazingly authentic tiramisu and a gorgeous handmade canoli. All this for an astonishingly low price and excellent service. I came in for a quick bite, and wasnt sure of what to get. The blonde server(sorry I didn't get your name) recommended i order a Turkey Brie sandwich and a lemonade. I noticed my lemonade had what I can only describe as dust specks in it. I assumed it was from a dirty filter or the ice and I didn't drink it. When my sandwich arrived I took a bite and noticed it was dry and asked for mustard, I was informed they didn't have this. It's a sandwich shop, how don't you atleast have the little packets. So I said okay no big deal and tried the potato salad, this was obviously not fresh and was weirdly lukewarm? The owner was cold and off-putting. Was in the area and decided on a whim to go in and try this restaurant. Was sat right away. The menu was nice and there was a nice variety of items, however, there is no mentions of what beverages they had. Online their menu is a bit different so we were a little disappointed to find out they didn’t have something that was on the menu online. I got the meatball sub and it was probably one of the best meatball subs I’ve had in a long time. Perfect ration of meat, cheese, and sauce. My wife got the Sicilian turkey club and it was very good.
