Slow train has been a local staple offering craft coffee and espresso beverages for many years, and my family has frequented at least once a month for quite some time now. However I must say over the last 12-18 months there has been an uprising in business, which is great financially, but has led to a decline in overall employee morale and product quality. Sometimes we are met with emotional resistance from baristas who are clearly feeling overworked and overwhelmed with the business needs, and are not able to offer the modicum of effort that is needed to deliver quality customer service and beverages alike. While this is understandable, because these people deserve rest and incentive to work outside of financial stability - this needs to be addressed by the proper authority within the business. a super cute cafe near oberlin college. upon entering, the lighting and seating had a cozy ambiance and most customers are students grabbing coffee before class or sitting at the cafe to study. i read that slow train and the local were the most popular cafes in town, and opted for slow train due to better lighting.
