The last time we ate here was in July. My youngest child (7), wanted their pizza for her birthday dinner. We have eaten here many times before, recommended it to others, and although you can expect to wait longer than the time they tell you on the phone to get your pizzas, it's okay if you plan on it taking an extra 20-30 minutes. People that I had recommended Lorenzo's to have told me their terrible experiences and that they were never coming back, but I've never had a horrible experience like they described. Until July. I arrived 20 minutes after my pick-up time, told them I was there, and waited. And waited. And waited. The entire 30 minutes I waited nobody spoke to me or explained anything. There was a lot of yelling and fighting in the kitchen during that time. I returned to the window and asked if my pizzas were ready yet. They said "almost". More waiting and more yelling in the kitchen. 20 minutes or so later, I went to the window again. Someone finally apologized and said they believed that a delivery person had taken my pizzas by mistake and they were making new ones for me. They refunded me the cost of the pizzas. 20 more minutes and I was ordering from Pizza Hut on my phone while I was waiting. 20 more minutes, my pizzas at Pizza Hut we're ready and I was walking out the door. But wait! They holler for me and hand me both the pizzas that were taken out for delivery and the new pizzas they had made. This is about 2 hours after my pick-up time at this point. Went to Pizza Hut to pick up my pizza there and went home. Opened the Lorenzo's boxes. 2 of them weren't my pizzas and the ones that were my orders were burned on the bottom. Never again. They need to work on their...
Read moreWe have been told we needed to try Lorenzo's pizza... so we made a road trip on a Thursday and arrived around 4:30 PM. Just so you know - this isn't my first pizza joint... we've been all over the world in search of the ultimate pizza... from Sicily to Sydney to Rome to Ridgeville, from Venice to Valley City... Lorenzo's is certainly in the top five of my favorite pizzas. Lorenzo's has seating outside against the building and under a covered area outside as well. We chose to dine inside. Lorenzo's is somewhat small inside but it is a quaint pizza shop not a massive chain restaurant. We let our waitress know how long we've been waiting to try their highly rated-highly bragged about pizza and she returned with a 'sampler' salad to keep us entertained while we waited for the pizza. We ordered the medium spinach pizza on the menu and added mushroom (oh boy buttery delicious) and a medium pepp sausage and banana pepper pizza. Both were done to perfection with stretchy cheese and (my mouth is watering as I type this) just packed full of oh-so-goodness that is pizza. Our waitress Emily was very attentive, polite, responsive and took care of all of our needs and wants in a very timely fashion. We were here a bit early and there were only a few tables being used at the time. By the time we left - everything inside and most everything outside was busy... but while were were there more staff came on to work. I would highly recommend Lorenzo's for the pizza and pizza shop atmosphere and ofcourse the friendly service (ask for Emily)! WE...
Read moreSometimes you just feel like Italian food in a comfortable restaurant that isn't loaded with a 100 chattering people. Not only did we get that at Lorenzo's Pizzeria in Oberlin, but we also walked away pretty satisfied with our food. A very friendly and smiling waitress did a wonderful job of servicing us throughout our visit, taking our order and checking up on us during your stay. We first tried the Sicilian Meatballs with Breadsticks and enjoyed every bit. My complaint was only that I could have went for another meatball and breadstick. The gravy that the meatballs were rolling in was neither too sweet or sour, but with a nice meaty taste and mellow tomato. For our entrees, my wife had the Chicken Parmesan and I a 9" customized pie with sausage, ricotta and mushroom. The pizza hot, crispy and delicous! There were nice size chunks of Italian sausage smothered in cheese and ricotta, which, by the way, was a very unique item to have available as a topping, but added a wonderful creamy texture to the pizza. My wife enjoyed her Chicken Parmesan, as it came with a very moist and well seasoned piece of Chicken and a side of spaghetti with a pretty decent red gravy. We were both very happy and full patrons when we left with smiles on our faces knowing we would be back. If there were any negatives, I would say the menu could offer a few more entrees, but it's obvious that pizza is their thing and they do...
