Lupitas Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Oberlin

Perhaps I am biased since I am from California but, the food was awful. I taco was served in a hard tortilla shell that was stale, the rice was bland and chile relleno wasn't filled with much cheese. When I explained that the taco was stale and tasteless, the server took and I told him I didn't want it at all. The chicken was flavorless and the tortilla was stale. In authentic Mexican food, those "shells" are not used. That being said, the shell was falling apart as well. The waiter brought me another one and I explained again that I didn't want it at all now. He insisted that it was my fault so I should try the new taco. I didn't. He still charged me for something I didn't eat and sent back. I told him that I shouldn't be charged for that but he disagreed. Simply because I was with a group, I didn't argue it but the food and service was awful. My group members had to ask for water several times and one person had to wait for his food much longer even though he ordered when the rest of us ordered. I am only giving this establishment because my colleagues said the margaritas were great. I don't drink but the margaritas are $.99 on Tuesday. Perhaps if I had been inebriated, I would have enjoyed the food. But being a Californian and knowing real Mexican food, I would have to say this place sucked. Literally some of the worst food (Mexican or other) that I have paid for. I don’t understand why anyone who knew actual Mexican food would come here twice. The taquitos are filled with old stew meat and saying filled is an exaggeration there is so little filling the taquitos cant even be round like they should instead they are flat and so much greasier than normal taquitos. The chick tacos I ordered for my dogs were also old stew or fajita meat instead of chicken taco stuff. Oh and they filled my taquito plate with rice but no beans. And a lot of cheese which I don’t eat. I’m just so outraged that Lupita’s is the best Mexican in oberlin. I’m just too tired from being on the road a week traveling to go complain but if I had eaten this on the way out I would have demanded my money back or different food though I’m not sure they could make anything I would...

We come to this place quit a few times and we like the place, but this last time we came in, we were seated and was given our menus and we was forgotten. we sat there for a five minutes and no one showed up. we would get the chip and sauce right off the bat but none came to give us that. a few more minutes after that a couple came in, they were seated, given menus, then given chips and sauce, then got there menu order. we still sat there waiting. a few more minutes went by and another couple came in. the same happen and no one still didn't even came by our table. so we got up and started to leave, 2 waitresses walked by us and didn't look or say anything so we left. We do like the place but didn't like how we got treated this last time. and the place wasn't that busy...
