Ali Mediterranean Grill | Gyro-Kabob-Seafood — Restaurant in Ocala

As disappointing as the meal was it is only fair to start with the fact that the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the outside was very inviting with an outdoor seating area that suggested coming back one cool evening to enjoy the atmosphere. Unfortunately that is where the compliments have to end. The interior was clean but as fast food a cuisine as any McDonalds with no MiddleEastern influence. The food is where the disappointment began. The wings probably started out fine but the extra crispy preparation served in a thin hot sauce suggested that the poor chicken does in vain. The Chicken Shwarma and Pita Wraps were rolled up in what seemed more like loafs of bread than Pitas and we literally had to peel of a layer in order to find the fillings. The falafel was mush vs falafel balls and the chicken was cold chunks in a light tahini sauce that was way too watery. No salad or added fillings to add any texture or flavor to either. The French fries and onion rings were obviously frozen and while the fries were fair the onion rings were oily and a sad afterthought to a disappointing meal. Perhaps I should end with the only other good thing which was their Ice Tea. It was fantastic and deserved a better meal to pair with. We went with high expectations and left with the desire to go get some dinner since we left more...

I was craving Mediterranean food and wasn't expecting many options in Ocala Florida. There was only one option and I figured it wasn't going to meet my expectations because I have lived 14 years in the middle east but i ordered two dishes from door dash... I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap and the chicken shawarma bowl. The portions were perfect. One entree was definitely enough for one person. The chicken was flavorful and was cooked at the right temperature. Perfect blend of garlic and veggies. I ate the chicken shawarma the next day for lunch and even a day later it tasted great too

I've come here a few times now and decided it's time to add a review. They are only doing drive through service or delivery right now but that's ok because the wait is not too long. I do love that I've found a good place for greek food. Their gyros are so tasty but their greek salads are also good. I'm excited to try more items here so I'll definitely continue to return.
