My family and I had a lovely trip with Ilissa as our guide. Our kayaking through Silver springs was gorgeous. The glass bottom kayak really high lighted how clean the water was and it was a unique way to experience the park. As someone who is jumpy, the kayak view gave me more control to intimately peer into life below the water’s surface unlike a boat, but without it being too overwhelming, like a fully transparent kayak.
But most importantly we were safe and well looked after. Ilissa was calm and patient, which we were very grateful for as our party were at different levels of athleticism, skill, and just interested in taking as many wildlife (of which the park was teeming with) pictures. I for one was extremely happy to have such a knowledgeable guide. Unless you’re a super experienced nature enthusiast I would highly recommend getting a guide. It was soothing to have Ilissa be aware of known alligator territory and check to see if they were in the area before we got over there. Furthermore I was secure in the sense that if a large alligator were to show its head around us or a manatee grabbed onto the kayak she would be able to talk us through what to do.
However there was more than just the safety aspect to her knowledge! She knew all sorts of interesting tidbits and the animals that lived in the area (my family and I will never see monkeys the same way again). We got to see many points of interest and the history that could be easily missed without someone with prior knowledge of the area.
Long story short 10000/10 ❤️, would...
Read moreIf you’re considering a kayak tour, look no further than Wet Rabbit Kayaks! This was an absolutely incredible experience from start to finish, and I can't recommend it enough. We had the privilege of exploring some of the clearest, most pristine waters I’ve ever seen, all from the safety and comfort of our safe, stable, glass-bottom kayaks. Wet Rabbit gave us a unique opportunity to see everything up close — the crystal-clear waters allowed us to spot incredible underwater ecosystems and watch the wildlife without disturbing them.
Our guides were beyond amazing—friendly, knowledgeable, and so passionate about the environment. They made us feel completely at ease, and it was clear they genuinely loved sharing this breathtaking experience with us. We spent the day getting up close with manatees, which was truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Watching them in their natural habitat was unforgettable. We also saw turtles, alligators, and there are even monkeys in the park! The diversity of wildlife in this area is just mind-blowing.
The whole tour felt safe, relaxed, and absolutely magical. If you want a unique, immersive adventure that gives you a true connection to nature, Wet Rabbit Kayaks is the one to choose. Without a doubt, this is...
Read moreMy partner and I did the 2 hour tour in Silver Springs with Wet Rabbit Kayaks on a Sunday in January. We were on the water for 2 hours, plus there's extra time for set up (so budget more like 2.5 hours). There were 2 guides for the 8 guests, which was really nice to make sure no one missed anything. Each kayak has its own 5L dry bag that you can put any valuables and the bag stays in your kayak (you can clip it on), plus everyone has their own small microfiber towel so you can wipe the glass bottom when you accidentally drip from your paddle. We appreciated how knowledgeable both guides are, and they were spectacular at pointing out wildlife that we definitely would have missed. We saw lots of manatees, plus alligators, turtles, fish, birds, monkeys, and some sunken movie props and whatnot in the water. They even sent us some photos they'd taken during our tour! Overall this was a fantastic experience because of our guides, and I would recommend Wet Rabbit Kayaks!
FYI there is an additional $6 per person park fee, but it doesn't sound like any tour companies include this extra fee (from what we overheard from other...
