Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers — Restaurant in Ocala

Well, we stopped in for lunch, more like mid afternoon. There were a some people in the restaurant, but they were far from busy. I went to wash my hands before eating. But I couldn't use the mens room. The ladies had taken it over with the women's room closed with a note saying that it was out of order. I don't blame the ladies because nature calls and you don't want to see a note saying you can't. There was no one in front of us when we ordered. While waiting for our order, I went to fill our drinks, since we have to do that ourselves. The drink area was a mess with trash all over. There were no cup covers for smaller drinks, that were not laying on the counter with other trash, and soda or such, on them. There were no napkins in the napkin dispenser. There were only a couple of straws and they (like the ones laying on the counter) had soda or such, on them. It might not be like this if Freddy's had a small trash container in the drink area for such trash. Does anyone look at things like this, or do they wait for us to complain about it? I was aggravated, so I decided to take a picture. I didn't plan on doing a review. But it's hard to ignore such a contrast between this Freddy's and the others we have been to. As I walked to a booth, the filth was almost everywhere. Trash on the tables and floor. To be fair to Freddy's, not every table. But the seat bases were just looked visibly dirty to me, with trash and food on the floor. My pictures make things actually look a lot better than they were. I feel bad writing this, but my recent experience with Freddy's has shown Freddy's is better than this. Well at least the food was very good and that's the reason we go to Freddy's in the first place. Our lunch was much more enjoyable. But as I looked at the tables next to me, more trash and such. So I snapped a couple more pictures from my seat under the adjacent tables. There's almost no one in the restaurant, yet I'm still looking at filth and trash. So now, I decided to do this review. So after eating, I finally got into the mens room to wash my hands. There was trash overflowing in the mens room trash can. I picked it up and squashed it in a little to make room. Then washed my hands. We were very disappointed with the lack of cleanliness in this Freddy's. If there was a packed house, I could understand. But there were only a handful of tables both inside and out when we arrived. And I think we might have been the only table when we were ready to leave. (But to be fair, people were coming in.) Yet the filth remained. I am thankful this was not my first impression of a Freddy's. It might have been the last. I gave this Freddy's three stars only because Freddy's food is good. Last night my family and I went to eat ice cream at this place and with us was our service dog, the dog was inside a dog bag, not on the floor. When we entered we noticed that one of the employees who I don't know if she is the manager (if so, that position is too big for her) approaches the cashier and begins to talk to her without hiding for a second that she was talking about us, apparently He didn't like that our dog was there. The cashier very kindly informed us that the dog could not be there and I responded that it was my service dog and immediately she told me that it was fine, there is no problem if it is a service dog but I told her that we will order and that we will sit outside. to eat our ice cream and he tells me don't worry, no problem. We ordered and when she gave me our order it looked as if a 2 year old had prepared it, the pecans were missing and the entire glass was dirty on the outside with chocolate, ice cream, etc. The person who prepared our order was the same employee who, since we arrived, did not like that we were with the dog. She has short blonde hair and she wears glasses. I told the cashier that our order looked unpleasant and that the appearance was not the best, she apologized to me. Whenever I'm in town I always go to Freddy's hamburgers the last time I was in town was about a year ago. This place used to be pristine clean. You didn't see work just talking and yakking amongst and carrying on long-winded you didn't see fingernail marks all over the register and drippings on the backside of the register. When I am address that to the cashier she just looked at me like I'm crazy and blew me off and so does this teenagers yakking up a storm and not appearing to be busy like they should look. The counter where the trays lay was thick with he ard dried grease. The counter didn't look like it was clean and over a year. I said it was the health department recently? This was my response from the oh he was just here the other day.. I know that was a lie. Because of osha was here and the health department was here there would be shutting this restaurant down and know it. I am hurt I am disappointed I am discouraged I'm just illusioned because when I used to visit this place. It was way better than it is now. It really went downhill I will be calling the health department the environmental safety protection amd OSHA. That was the nastiest grossiest I have ever seen and I will not be back and I will tell others about it as well. Why are these kids coming to work if they're going to just chat amongst themselves. Somebody needs to go up there and clean up the whole entire crew. And I will never recommend this place to anybody at all ever again and I know a lot of people that moved up here that I can recommend this place too but I won't. Management really got slack save yourself the trouble it's not worth it. This is why I don't go out to eat anymore because my food is better I'm saving myself all that money.
