Where to begin..tables are way to close to eachother for starters. When we ordered the gentleman rang up what i wanted wrong. I wanted a side of fries and 1 steak skewer. I was charged for a meal which was more money and not what I wanted. The cashier asked if I wanted my change...a cashier should never ask that. The cups are small and cheap, lids dont fit. The napkins are cocktail napkins. None of the employees seemed happy like they wanted to be there. The steak skewer was over cooked. We also ordered the four dips which were delicious however I dont feel enough pita was given for the amount of dip. Husband ordered a gyro but was never asked which type of meat he wanted. There was no sweet tea when we got there. Two employees later went to make some. (Ps you shouldnt add sugar before making the tea it clogs the dispenser.) But while they were making the tea my husband was waiting to get to soda machine when a man in black shirt; I'm assuming the owner, rudely squeezed passed my husband without saying anything to him to get himself a drink. The icing on the cake is they allow animals inside the facility which is a health code violation. No the dog was not a...
Read moreI recently visited The Great Greek Mediterranean in Ocala for a dine-in lunch and was excited to try out their menu. I ordered the traditional Great Greek Gyro, along with a side of Feta Fries, Lemon Potatoes, and finished the meal with their Baklava Ice Cream for dessert.
The gyro was flavorful and well-prepared – definitely a highlight. The feta fries were perfectly seasoned and a great twist on a classic side. The baklava ice cream was rich, unique, and the perfect sweet ending to the meal.
What stood out even more was the service. Several staff members were very attentive, polite, and genuinely concerned about our satisfaction with the food. It’s always refreshing to dine at a place where customer care feels sincere.
My only minor complaint was that the lemon potatoes weren’t fully cooked, which affected the texture and overall enjoyment of that dish. Hopefully just a small oversight in the kitchen that day.
Overall, it was a great experience, and I would absolutely recommend this spot to anyone looking for fresh Mediterranean flavors in a welcoming atmosphere. I look forward to...
Read moreIf you are craving delicious, authentic Greek comfort food, you will not be disappointed. Everything on the menu looked good, so our group shared a number of dishes. The hummus was incredibly creamy and fresh; loved the sprinkle of fresh chickpeas on top. The tzatziki sauce goes with everything, just the right amount of dill and cucumber (it’s perfect on the chicken souvlaki). The gyro wrap was really tender and very well-seasoned; it was very filling. The French fries were so crispy and light, completely addictive. The rice pilaf in the Greek rice bowl was so flavorful, and complemented all the other ingredients beautifully.
For dessert, the baklava was light, flaky, and drizzled with just the right amount of light honey. The rice pudding actually had an amazing texture, it was smooth, creamy, and rich and topped with just the right amount of cinnamon. The restaurant was clean, the ambience was fun, and the service was fast, friendly and attentive. And the owner was so genuine and kind. His positive energy lit up the place. We will...
