I was directed to this place when I went to Liquid Assets for lunch and saw the menu brochure posted (all under the same company umbrella as well as Annabelle's BBQ). The food was deliciously AMAZING I was too hungry to take pics but I ordered the Pescado al Pastor, Al Pastor and Chorizo tacos for my lunch, they were so tasty I ordered 6 more tacos to take back to my hotel for dinner to share with my family. I ordered the Quesabirria, Al Pastor for my 6 year old and more chorizo tacos, and for dessert the Tres Leches and churros. Let's just say not much talking at dinner they enjoyed every bite. My daughter and husband loved the Quesabirria with the consommé. All the proteins were deliciously seasoned and the beautiful fresh accompaniments, pickled onions, cabbage, lime wedges, cilantro and salsas tied it all together wonderfully. The Tres leches was delicious not too sweet but I didn't care for the fruit on top. The churros were fresh, crisp and yummy, but the dulce sauce texture was little curdled and lumpy, I think this version may have been done in the oven which requires constant stirring resulting in said texture. The citrus beverage agua Fresca I ordered with lunch (so good) and the pineapple one to take back with me.
The staff was friendly and helpful and I will DEFINITELY be back to enjoy some more delicious...
Read moreFantastic food. I was at the beach and thinking crabs, but I saw the amount of stars this place had and tried it. The guacamole at $12 is very pricey, but fresh and delicious. Other reviews said tamales were good, so I tried a chicken one. Yummy. I expected a corn tamale stuffed with chicken, but no, it is a full corn tamale with a chicken sauce on top. I assume all three tamales are served this way, so try whichever you want the most - the tamale will be the same. I had a pastor taco on the advice of the counter-person. It was good, nothing to crazy for. I would try a different flavor next time. The star of the show was the empanada. Again, I had chicken but was close to trying the shrimp. It was fresh-fried and really good. Lastly, I ordered a side of rice. It was excellent, very reminiscent of Uncle Julios' dry, Spanish rice. But at $5 a side I did not try the beans. I wish there had been a rice/bean combo for $5 as I was just one person. The food rates 5 stars. The staff was friendly, but they should do more. The outside tables needed cleaning and especially the ground needed sweeping. It was a mess of napkins and tortilla chip pieces. So the "atmosphere" takes a hit, too. You sit at a counter inside or one of about 5 half-picnic...
Read moreI wasn't overly impressed with my experience. My youngest got a kids quesadilla. They don't have flour tortillas and she immediately noticed the taste difference from what she was used to. I pulled the top half off and she begrudgingly ate it. She got fries instead of rice. Fries were awesome. My oldest daughter chose to order BBQ. I had a bowl with the al pastor. I felt the meat had a great flavor and felt, in proportion with the bowl size, it was a good amount of meat. Definitely wasn't worth $17, though, and probably half the amount overall that I'm used to receiving at most restaurants. My husband got 2 tacos. They were described to him as being full size, but were slightly bigger than a street taco. He liked the meats he chose but didn't like the shells. We all liked the chips and salsa. Overall, we just felt the portion sizes didn't justify the cost and we aren't likely to return because of that. The food itself was just okay, therefore we would try other options rather than giving them a second try. The place and bathroom were clean. Dine in area...
