Drove to Assateague Beach recently and in the back of my head I had a desire for sushi on the way back. I knew I read about a good sushi place in OC. I called up and made a reservation which is something I usually don’t do. It’s a good thing I did because it’s a very small place and they’re very busy. Anyway, got a table there at exactly the time they said we would and the atmosphere is very nice and you feel like you’re surrounded by a well oiled machine of friendly, smiling people. Ordered the miso soup, a house salad with delicious soy ginger dressing, a vegetable tempura appetizer, a sashimi sampler, a yellow fin tuna traditional roll, a regular tuna traditional roll, a salmon, traditional roll and two special rolls; the caterpillar and the black widow. The miso soup was delicious. It wasn’t salty. The dressing in the salad was delicious as was the salad. The tempura vegetables were very good, the sashimi sampler was extremely fresh and delicious and I am not normally into sashimi but wanted to try. The regular sushi rolls were very good and I really enjoyed the caterpillar and especially the black widow special rolls. Service was excellent and very friendly. Nice decorations on the walls and the background music is the type of music I like (not country or commercial pop!) so I was in my happy place. I must repeat again, how friendly and warm the people who work here are !!! If you are coming from Delaware, it’s easy to get to as it’s right over the border at the very north end of OC. If you’re going to go around dinner time, make sure you make reservations otherwise you might try to go between 3-5. They have very short hours 3 to 8 or 9 PM depending on the season. There is a parking lot in front. Check their Facebook page for their...

After trying a couple of other sushi restaurants that locals recommended, I had given up on finding an “okay” sushi restaurant in Ocean City. Another couple from the city recommended Sushi Cafe, so I knew I had to give it a try, and I’m elated with joy that I did!

I went the second day of reopening for the 2024 season, right at 5pm, and I’m thankful they were able to seat me. This place is small, like smaller than small. There’s a handful of tables, with roughly 10 seats at the sushi bar. The server and staff were attentive and gave me time to look at the menu, which is impressive for multiple reasons. The specialty rolls are creative, and they are significantly cheaper than the other local sushi restaurants. I ordered the Torpedo and Yeti Roll. Both were flavorful and I love that the pieces are bite size, as sushi should be! The fish was fresh and devout of the “fishy” smell.

Sushi Cafe is beyond just “okay”. They are phenomenal and even rival one of my favorite places in DC. Their menu is small and straight to the point. The chefs work efficiently and streamline their processes to get food to the customers, with minimal wait time. I will definitely be returning to Sushi Cafe on a...

We in from out of state for a basketball tournament and we eat sushi at least twice a week. We looked at reviews as there are several sushi restaurants close. THIS IS A MUST GO TO if you are in the area. We called it in, 10 out of 10! Customer service amazing! Took time to answer questions and repeated the order back, VERY FRIENDLY! Ready exactly when they said, literally 29 minutes! 10 out of 10! Food was Hot when we got back to the Hotel! 10 Taste..10!!! Best Miso soup I have had ever! My daughter who eats Miso soup at least 3x a week also said it’s the best Miso soup ever. I personally didn’t know it could be very different and I don’t know what they did but it’s elevated. Teriyaki Chicken was outstanding! We also ordered 2 of the specialty rolls. Torpedo and rainbow! Very nice size, and the taste combination was fabulous!! We will definitely swing by tomorrow on our way back home. A added plus, the price was very reasonable. I was a little skeptical because the rolls are cheap compared to everywhere else around here. Don’t let that detour you! It’s really really good!

Price 10 Service...

10/10 would do again! Delicious sushi, awesome service. The waiter and hostess were very attentive and the sushi chef check on us and answered our questions. We got the Bonsai Roll, Rainbow Roll and Sandbox Roll. Every one was delicious and the atmosphere is nice and cozy. Don't bother listening to the one negative review talking about there not being seating for large (read obese) people. It's a TINY cafe. Get takeout if you can't fit in the seats, the food is worth it. We eat a lot of sushi and compare everything to Maui level sushi, this place is up there folks!
