I swear that I am not a good snob. I have a healthy appreciation for foods of quality ranging from fine dining to the ubiquitous dirt-water dog. All of this just to frame my year and a half of disappointment in the Asian fare I have encountered in the Mid-Atlantic region. We have tried several well rated spots, and until today had been convinced that we just weren't going to find a place that serves something we wanted to come back for. I was wrong. Very wrong.
From the kind and cheerful service (which seems more about the quality of the establishment and their concern for your experience, rather then just a play for tips etc) to the perfection of the vegetables and sauces - I want to try each item on their menu at least once.
Our meal of pineapple fried rice and cashew chicken arrived from the kitchen perfectly cooked and seasoned. The vegetables were tender, yet still had excellent fresh bite. The meat was of high quality, with a grilled flavor that peeks through the beautifully orchestrated sauce.
Now I know.. Thai O-Cha doesn't just have a lovely menu. They have actually written a love letter to your stomach and taste buds. I expect my romance with them to be a very long...

First thing first, the wait is too long. When we were there, there were only 6 tables and about 24 guests overall and only two tables of 6 guests were ordering. I have no idea why it took 45 minutes before the food were brought in.
The quality of the food was so bad. The beef smelled not fresh and the seafood madness we ordered had something like pork intestinal inside. The food was not prepared well. Half of the dish was watery.
The guy was telling the table behind me that he was loosing employees due to the end of the season. I believe that the chefs were not at work the day we visited and this place should not have served the full menu.
While we were waiting, I saw the girl over the counter killed a fly on the window. Did not see her washed her hands or used sanitizer right away. less than a minute later, she started refilling water for guests. Hmm, hope she washed her hands back the bathroom?
We spent some 80 dollars fora family of three and had to stop by a Chick-f-la again on our way home. The experience was so bad and I would never visit this...
Read moreWhile visiting Ocean City, we had lunch at Thai O Cha (formerly My Thai OC). For drinks, they serve beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages. Since it was a work day, I had a Thai Iced Tea topped with coconut milk. For starters, I tried their Cream Cheese Wontons, which consisted of cream cheese wrapped with wonton skin, deep fried, and served with sweet chili sauce. It was sweet and savory. It would have been more interesting with crab in it. For lunch, I had the Thai Basil lunch special with tofu and with mushroom and cabbage instead of bell peppers. The Thai Basil lunch special consisted of garlic, green beans, zucchini, onion, cabbage, mushroom and basil stir fried with tofu in a special house sauce. It was quite flavorful - sweet and savory. It was served with jasmine rice, egg roll with sweet chili sauce, and a cup of Coconut Milk Soup, which consisted of coconut soup with chicken, mushroom, onion, and cilantro. It was rich, creamy, smooth, and flavorful. We wanted Mango Sticky Rice but it wasn't available. I plan to try their other dishes - Mixed Vegetables, Fried Tofu, Pad Thai, and Pad See...
