I needed to spend some quality time with my 4 year old granddaughter and told her we were going to dinner together and let her pick the place. She said hibachi and that always means Japanese. Seating was ok. We were told at the door to sit anywhere. Probably 10 minutes before someone came to bring menus. My baby girl LOVES sushi and fried rice. Wasabi does not offer a child’s menu so I purchased an order of combination fried rice. The fried rice is not traditional at all!! It’s mushy. The rice is not prepared properly and there is no flavor NONE!! We also ordered Squid Salad.. DELICIOUS!! We also had one order of tuna sashimi for her and a rainbow roll and yellowtail scallion roll. The rainbow roll was so full of a very mayo dominant California roll filling that the tune, salmon, white fish and avocado were totally lost in that mess. The yellowtail was not rolled tight so you couldn’t pick it up without it falling apart. The check is delivered and when I put my card in the presenter he dropped off a machine for ME TO CHECK MYSELF OUT!!! 😡. It would not print a receipt for me. From my perspective, it appears that a few young men put money together for a place to serve their friends. PokeMon on the TV! I’ll...
Read moreWasabi is our go-to spot for sushi, and it never disappoints. Steven and Ricky are incredibly talented and always experimenting with new sauces, flavor profiles, and textures—which makes every visit feel exciting and personal. We love sitting at the sushi bar for our date nights and letting them create whatever they're inspired by in the moment. Somehow, it always hits the mark.
Of course, we have our must-haves (the pan-fried gyoza and jalapeño hamachi are non-negotiables), but their real magic shines through in their creativity. Even on the rare occasion when something isn’t quite our favorite, they take note—and are still determined to craft something new that feels tailored to our taste. That level of care and intentionality is what sets them apart.
The waitstaff are amazing, too. They always greet us with genuine warmth and excitement, and it truly feels like we’re welcomed back every time we walk through the door. We love spending our money here—not just because the food is outstanding, but because we feel seen, heard, and appreciated. That is why we’ll keep coming back. The rest is...
Read moreFirst, they were dead the whole time of our visit. Not kid friendly at all. Was very disappointed. I feel like we were screwed over from the moment we walked in. Sushi was extremely disappointing. I can't believe I paid $10 for 6 very thin slices of naruto. Waitress had the audacity to ask me if I was "sure" if I wanted to get my kids mochi ice cream before we left. I paid $55 for 3 freaking hibachi lunch specials (of which we never got our salad) a sad sushi roll and some ice cream unwillingly served. I tipped $15 whilst we were there and the waitress looked like she was disgusted. Maybe it wasn't enough? I'm not sure. But I do know that I will not be back. Nor do I recommend this little hole in the wall posing as a fancy restaurant. Work on your customer service and I would gladly up my rating.
P.S. I myself work at a hibachi grill and would NEVER treat my customers the way we were treated. I don't care how good your food is. If you treat people like garbage, they...
