This was during a shift change or something of the sort. We have been eating po boy express for about 15yrs and it's always been great except for this time. Staff was rude and not willing to make a steak bomb to make half our steak bomb with no peppers and onions but was willing to make it with or without peppers and onions (like the whole sandwich). We ordered 2 muffullata's with no olive mixture on them (or next to none). Spent 50 dollars and had a horrible experience. The woman taking the orders and checking people out was really rude. We asked for a extra order of po taters when we got there and she said we should have ordered them with our mobile order and acted like it was the most inconvenient thing in the world. Awful experience this time. Usually it's good. BTW we order regular Muffulatas not ham and cheese...
Read moreStopped by after several locals mentioned how good the poboys were. It's a very non-descript place. Order at the register. No description of the sandwiches. Cash only. Pour your own drink. Super casual with pretty much no decor. And then this monster of a poboy arrives and your mouth is in Oh My God Central. The Hammerhead is ham, turkey, and roast beef with gravy and two melted cheeses. The bread was fantastic and the sandwich was so huge I almost could not finish it. (And my capacity for food almost always surprises people.) I was told their potato wedges are spectacular. However I ordered the onion rings which were just an average, store-bought variety.
Short version: huge portions of delicious comfort food with an atmosphere more comfortable than most...
Read moreTraveling around the country in our RV, and always try to find locally owned places to eat at. Got a recommendation from a guy cast net fishing off the Davis Bayou pier. He told us the Po Boy Express had the BEST shrimp po boy in town. Not sure if it is the best in town since it's the only place in town we've eaten at, but it was really, really good! It was so good that I came back to order a muffalota to go that night since we were leaving town the next morning. The young lady at the counter had told us that we had to try the Steak Bomb Po Boy or the Muffalota the next time we came, and I couldn't stop thinking about it. It didn't disappoint. Definitely going to stop by here on way back through from Florida. Yum! Got some pics on our page...
