Outback Steakhouse — Restaurant in Ocean Township

We just got takeout from the brand new Outback Steakhouse restaurant in Oakhurst. The whole experience exceeded our experience for takeout. The people taking the order over the phone were very polite and helpful. It was an extremely easy pickup. Once there, you pull into a designated spot, respond to the text they sent with the spot # you are in. They came out with the food within 2 minutes. The food was still hot after the 20 minute drive home, and everything was in the bag that we expected. It was all packed with great care and looked delicious once we opened the container.

We ordered the Bloomin Onion, Alice Chicken (with broccoli & loaded baked potato), and the BBQ Ribs (with asparagus & sweet potato). The order also came with 2 loaves of brown bread & butter. Everything was delicious and portion sizes generous. In fact, there is enough for a second meal. We would definitely order all of it again.

So we were in yesterday for dinner. I got on the list ahead of time. And we sat down within five minutes. Which was great. We knew the restaurant was new and things were a little bit slow, which is understandable. We had blooming onion and the wings, which both were great we put in our order for our food. And that took a little while. Our waitress did swing by the table and was surprised that we have not gotten our entrées yet. So they finally came out a little while later, but everything was already cooled off. They must’ve been sitting for a little bit. So we mentioned it to her, but everything still had good taste and the Everything was cooked to the right temperature, but all had cooled off by now. As I begin to write this review, my party has been waiting for our dinner for one and a half hours! So far we’ve only been served our drinks and bread. We came to Outback because we saw their commercial promoting their “Ausie Ausie Ausie” $14.99 special. We were given menus that did not display for us the special options, hence, we had to search for them on the website. The items that you are allowed to choose from are dependent on the location and the items are very limited. We actually felt bad about our server who was very apologetic and friendly. Many times incorrect food dishes arrived at our table that were meant for other tables. At no time did a manager approach our table to discern whether everything was OK. We ate after two hours and the only saving grace was that our food was delicious.
