So goooooood! Prices seem high, but once you've tried everything here you realize why other places have $1 fish taco Tuesday nights.
Disclaimer, you may experience a moment of deep reflection following the inevitable food coma after scarfing down the additional to go order (that you lied to the friendly cashier about being for your son) and realize how good the tortillas, guacamole, and salsa form your taste for fish, not fish. Sure, there are those out there that might say I just like the taste of fried food, but you would just prove to be ignorant in not entertaining the idea that the crispy, delicious batter managed to release its hold on the fish and shrimp while swinging violently on my electric scooter ride back to my hotel, making for a quick snack in between comas, not have faith in humanity in the Lord himself for blessing me with the courage to carry out the vision he instilled into my head and the wherewithall to basque in such a momentus experience in which little baby Jesus turned cold, naked fish atop soggy sweet potato fries into piping hot, tender, flakey morsels of fish complemented by a new base layer of microwavable minute rice and bathed in generous helpings of the undisputed king of tartar sauces that became the final occupant in my cup that was initially the beholder of lemonade during my dine-in experience that culminates into a wonderful spiritual moment in which you now understand and have forgiven all those folks in England that you made fun of for eating french fries with mayonnaise as a kid before your blissful descent into your "well what's the latest you will allow me to checkout and not incur any additional charges" slumber...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is a fast food style restaurant. You order at the counter first and you're given a number. Your food is even served on a tray.
I was there around 3pm (on purpose) and they weren't busy. Just a small handful of other patrons, but the place has ample seating for those busy times.
Customer service was good, my only dealings were at ordering, but they were friendly and efficient.
They have a limited bottled beer selection, but still nice and refreshing.
Naturally I tried the Fish and Chips, but I also love shrimp so I went with the sampler platter - 1 fish, 1 shrimp, slaw and chowder.
The food was decent. I didn't like the shrimp as much, it was too bready and not crispy enough. The fish is breaded perfectly, but could stand to be a bit crispier. What made it good was the tarter sauce, without it the fish is a bit bland. The slaw was good. The chowder had a good flavor, but had a thick gelatin consistency which isn't my favorite.
The portions are very generous, I can't imagine someone ordering the 3 piece fish meal and finishing it. The sampler platter was VERY filling and would have been enough for 2.
Price are a bit high and not accurate with their online menu, but for $20 I had a good lunch.
Overall a good place for fish and chips, but I'm still on the look out for amazing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been to London, I've been all over the US, I live in NorCal and I've had fish and chips everywhere. I was visiting my folks who live in Oceanside and they took me here. This is, single handedly, the best fish and chips I've ever had in my entire life. I started with a simple medium order of two fish filets. They were huge generous portions with decent fries, but upon biting into the crisp, light tempura magic I was instantly shocked at just how perfect they were. I devoured both huge 9 inch long filets enjoying every bite, ate my fries and had to go back for more. So I got two more filets, cole slaw, a fish taco and upgraded the side on the fish taco to fried pineapple rings which the gentlemen recommended as a good desert. The fish taco was HUGE, I can't imagine eating two. It was peppery and unique. But back to the fried fish filets after that and I wasn't wrong the first time they were perfect. The cole slaw was refreshing and I'd recommend that over the fries as it tasted very freshly made. Finally I ate the pineapple and it was warm, slightly sweet with a light dusting of powdered sugar. I felt like I was in some fancy British baking shop and was given those as a child to munch on while my mom bought supplies. Perfect Perfect Perfect. I absolutely love...
