Jorge's Mexicatessen — Restaurant in Oceanside

This hurts because the guy inside was so nice! I was ready to love this place! Walked in and placed an order for tacos, enchiladas, and a burrito. We took our order home just a couple minutes drive away, and sat down to eat the piping hot food. First bite of the burrito was immediately underwhelming. Zero seasoning, not even salt. It was just cooked shredded chicken and grilled fajita mix, no seasoning of any sort. Probably one of the worst burritos I've ever had. Everyone else's meals were similarly underwhelming. The pork adobo meat in the tacos was really good, but the carnitas and carne asada were pretty bland. The enchiladas were a bit dry.

Based on this first meal, I wouldn't come back or recommend this...

My friend and I both got the chile relleno burrito with an addition of rice. It was DELICIOUS! We were talking about how sometimes burritos can be too greasy or poor quality that makes our stomach hurt. But these burritos were not greasy, great quality, and not too salty. They were so good. The size was significant and worth the price. We didn’t think we’d be able to finish it but we did because it was so good. Also, the customer service was great. They were so nice there and the restaurant was clean. We’ll definitely be coming...

I was a bit skeptical coming in because i'm a vegetarian and sometimes Mexican places may not have enough for me.... But Jose was so so sweet, I decided to stay... And we were able to figure Out something good for me and I were so pleased. I got a bean and rice tostada... I also got some of their yummy cabbage on the side, And to top it all off was there salsa which made it a,perfect hit! If they take care of me like that always I'll be a regular!
