I moved to North County 9 years ago and happily found this place, it was good, 9 years ago. The place has gone down hill ever since in food quality, quantity and service only going up a steep hill in price. Today was, sad to say, definitely my last visit. I have never received a smile here. Today was the first time I got my toast WITH breakfast instead of for desert but dang, it was burnt and really, really small. My daughters french toast was smaller than a slice of wonder bread. My complete breakfast was NOT GOOD. It took over 40 min. for us to get our food and our order was the only one for the kitchen at the time. "Regulars" seem to be treated better than the average joe as evidenced by today's regulars Buddy the bulldog and his owner whom were served immediately upon entering the restaurant. Yes, Buddy the dog was served dog food from behind the counter in the restaurant (Buddy probably ate the best of anyone there today). The current stone faced waitress whom has been there for a long time as far as I can remember, is bouncing all over the place looking busy enough yet nothing is really happening, except the dog is getting stellar service on the floor from her (we were stuck there for over an hour mainly waiting for food and the check) and with all the activity by the waitress feeding, petting the dog etc. I never once saw the waitress wash her hands! So, a couple of flavorless eggs, cold undercooked sausage, burnt, mini, dry sourdough toast (they don't butter it for you) and mushy, starchy hashbrowns along with mini french toast, a cup of coffee, an orange juice from a carton and "dirty" service for $25.00 without so much as a thank you of even a smile? THANKS...
Read moreLast week we went to 101 Cafe for dinner. Since they’re known for breakfast the were only a few choices but still stayed and ordered our dinner. There were only 2 other customers so the person that appeared to be the manger or some type of lead person had time to chat with each of us. I had my service dog with me sitting inside the restaurant. He didn’t say anything about my service dog at that time. He told us how wonderful the breakfast food is and we should come back to try it.
Today we went for breakfast and they were busy but we were willing to wait. The same gentleman asked for our names and said we had to wait for a table outside. I let him know we were ok to sit inside even if it was a longer wait since it was chilly and damp. He let me know that was not an option and had to sit outside because of my service dog. First that ticked me off because I am allowed to bring my service dog inside with me. Most of all I was ticked off because when they weren’t busy he allowed us inside but since they didn’t need our business this morning he would only seat us outside.
Good diner food or not, if you can’t treat your customers fairly just because I’m disabled, then they don’t deserve...
Read moreTerrible service. Dirty tables not wiped down. Plenty of staff but all running around unorganized. We ordered our food and never got toast. When we, asked about it they said it would be right out. We asked 2 more times including going up to manager. Our meals were complete when a random server goes here's your toast. We replied it is a little late everyone has finished their meal. She snippedly replied "We only have so many toasters." You won't loose customers over toasters but you will when the waitress chastises your customers over toast they are due with their meals. I would not recommend. I would have been happy just paying the full bill with no comments from the waitress. She brought things to a level where they did not need to go. She called us rude multiple times because we were frustrated about her toaster comment. We asked for the bill and the manager. Went inside to sign bill and leave. Waitress had to point out discount and free coffee. I told her I would have rather had my breakfast than a discount. I was even more frustrated. You charged full price on a breakfast you never delivered on ? So why discount...
