Maxdons is a spot my girlfriend and I would like to go to shoot pool prior to the covid restrictions. We we're pleasantly surprised to find out they are now open for business and apparently have been for awhile now. We went in the late afternoon and was able to choose which table we wanted to play at which was great. What we noticed right away was the level of customer service. The bartender guy was quick and very polite. The jukebox was at the perfect volume which was nice. The prices for drinks and food was good. My girlfriend really likes her Micheladas done a certain way and both of the bartenders nailed it. Even though we use our own pool cue's, Maxdons has a good selection of house pool cue's. The entire place seemed very clean and well taken care of. But what really stands out once again is the customer service. The female bartender that took over for the guy earlier did an amazing job. She was very friendly and went above and beyond in making our drinks and serving us enough so that we decided to tip her 30% of the bill. Maxdons is a place you can go to straight from work or even dress up a little if you like. With a nice atmosphere and friendly staff we would like to give Maxdons...
Read moreBeen coming here for about 6 months, and liked this place and until today — cheap drinks and mostly good bartenders and patrons. However, today, as I was sitting at the bar, there was a man, by himself, saying terrible things about Mexican-Americans (and other races). He wouldn’t stop, and he was saying all this to the bartender (slender older woman with long red hair). She encouraged him. I finally asked him to stop his racist remarks, and he began questioning me with “are you American, are you an immigrant?” Then the bartender said to me, “I hate it when people pull the race card, I’m about peace and love, and I don’t even see race.” Yeah right. Anyone who encourages racist talk at the establishment they work for, then claims they “don’t see race” is worse than the ignorant customer they’re defending. I hope these aren’t the views of Maxdon’s owners, but she represents your brand. And the fact she not only allows customers to say racist/hateful things at the bar, but is engaging in the convo, that tells me all I need to know about her. The other bartenders are...
Read moreWe haven’t been here since Jan 2020. We decided to go in because it is my birthday and I wanted to play pool. Mind you we went in 3 days prior to play pool and felt uncomfortable so we immediately walked out. So, today it was less crowded and we tried again. We were playing pool, having a good time, a friend joined us. Then….the bartender approached my boyfriend and said she gave his card to a different person and he left with it. She actually laughed about it…..didn’t offer a discount or anything. Charged what she could to his card. Now we are screwed over, I get to pay for my own birthday dinner and we have to wait at least a week until his new card comes in the mail (during Christmas time, we have presents to buy). Good job maxdons we will not...
