Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Oceanside

Presentation is everything and the way these guys came at me was gross to say the least. Went it on a Saturday afternoon, not too busy for them, and had one person in front of me. The girl taking the order seem to be somewhere else while taking the order kept looking past us to the parking lot. I was guessing since they do delivery she was waiting for a driver then the door opened and a ratty looking girl popped in wearing a VERY nasty looking uniform. She was told she was late and the girl simply laughed. The bad part was that the girl who got laughed at seemed to channel any anger she got from that to the guy in front of me and myself. She hurried the guy through his order and then began to help me. She was quick and snappy when it came to taking my order, not even making eye contact or smiling, when I took my credit card out to pay she snatched it from my hands. I was almost ready to go off on her butt. I then saw her go from taking orders on the register to making pizzas without washing her hands! WTF!!! I saw though she wasn't making my order, then that dirty girl from earlier came from around back, washed her hands then got to work. At least her hands were clean I thought as I watched her make my pizza. I pretty much stood up watching my pie from formation til when the guy took it out the oven. And that was another thing a bunch of guys, the delivery drivers I guess, were literally hanging all over the place were the pizzas sat waiting for the customers who ordered them. As soon as the pissy looking cashier I had called out my name I grabbed my pizza and left. It was a little disgusting watching how my pizza and others are made by these kids. As for the pizza itself the crust was rubbery and the toppings had a plastic taste to them. The pizza sauce was no better than ketchup. I liked the Papa Johns near my old place in Temecula, but here it was just downright disgusting from...

Good God dont come to this location.

My first incident was when they took TWO HOURS to deliver my pizza. They offered me a free one on my next visit. Fine, I'll take it.

Today, I ordered my free pizza on the phone at 630pm. They said it would be ready at 730pm. Alright cool. My boyfriend goes to pick it up and guess what? Theres NO RECORD of a free pizza for me or a pizza being made. The cashier and manager both confirmed this and tried to call the other oceanside location to see if it was there.

I had to call them to tell them to look for my pizza cause I DID place the order. Haliey helped track down that the ticket for my pizza was never printed, therefore never made. She offered me another free pizza and I couldnt help but to laugh. Sure another pizza so I can have this same problem.

Haliey was nice and genuine though, i appreciate her and there should be more employees that PAY ATTENTION TO DETAIL like her. Thanks to haliey my pizza is now being made.

Let's hope we dont have other problems once its done. I've never had this much problem ordering pizzas in my life.

My advice? Pizza Hut, Dominos, Little Ceasars. Anything but this place.

ANOTHER UPDATE They put it as DELIVERY INSTEAD OF PICKUP. MY BOYFRIEND IS LITERALLY AT THE STORE RIGHT NOW, HES BEEN WAITING THERE SINCE 730, AND THEY KNEW THIS. WHY WOULD THEY PUT IT AS DELIVERY!

They are having the delivery driver come back.

Papa John's has gone downhill significantly. What used to be a friendly delicious pizza parlor has now been turned into a grumpy, greedy, pizza version of Burger King with an equal amount of grease. The person on the phone was fairly kind which is good to know since he was the manager, but that is no saving element for the $18 dollar charge (with a coupon) for two pizzas that were mediocre at best. I would have rated 3 stars had they remembered half of the toppings I ordered. It seems they have forgotten how the order goes. It was all buried under a thin amount of cheese with too much sauce and far more grease than the human body should consume. I doubt this review will be looked at considering there are dozens of 1 stars and it seems they do not care to respond. Seems like Papa needs to talk to his Mama on some manners. I hope they can improve, because $18 for 2 piles of trash is not how I wanted to spend my lunch. Service was good but did not expect a call back asking for a tip after pizza was delivered. 2 stars is generous. Good luck Papa....
