Firehouse Subs Chimney Rock — Restaurant in Odessa

This place is really good just not very many sandwiches I like here, but the ones I like I really like! Edit 4 years later I went in again today 5-28-2025 to get a turkey bacon ranch about 2:30 PM, figured it would be a quick bite on the way to see a customer in Midland. There was a Subway on the route as well which I had a coupon for but no I thought I want Firehouse. I get there and it's dead, they take my order and I sit down. Seems like only one girl is making sandwiches and every one else is on break, whatever. The one girl making sandwiches has her children there at a table trying to watch them and make my sandwich plus door dash etc, she keeps stopping to tell them to be have and leaves her post to go scold them, the other 3 employees in sight could care less it seemed in helping get orders out, 1 talking forever to a customer at the register about whou knows what about 20 mins then walked off to talk to a sitting employee who was on break or who knows, the other girl at the counter counting money for shift change, idk. About 6 or 7 more people walk in order, and are waiting no too, its been 30 mins since I ordered at this point. I finally hear my name bout 5 mins later, by this time I gotta book it, I take off and get down the road a bit and open it and find it's not even a turkey bacon ranch a brisket sandwich instead even though the bag receipt says turkey bacon ranch on it, thought after 35 min for sandwich and it's not even right at a dead time like 2:30 PM...

I LOVE Firehouse. As a matter of fact, ever since I discovered FHS, my family and I STOPPED going to the other fake bread SUB place. HOWEVER, we just stopped in this place and for the first time- EVER, it was really disappointing. My husband's and son's LARGE meat sandwich was FLAT and had VERY little meat. I also thought me daughter ordered a KIDS MEAL, only to find out, she DIDN'T! The "small" sandwich she ordered was T-I-N-Y! Three bites and she was done! My son usually can't even finish his FHS but because his hardly had any meat in his, he asked to have MY other half! For $67 dollars and some change, I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with the quality and (lack) of food we paid for... We DEFINITELY will NEVER be coming back to this location. Manager was on the phone with someone else, not happy with something they ordered, so that right there told me everything I needed to know about this location. I didn't even bother letting him know how disappointed we were. Fly issue is...

Best sandwich I've ever had. I'm not sure if it's just a talented staff or if god knew I needed a break. Maybe both. They were all very kind and helpful. Which is exactly what you need after a 16 hour shift. I'm not going to say that I'm rating the entire place as a whole. It is difficult in Midland/Odessa that is 5 stars all around and I've only been there once. But my personal experience, with that staff, and the food they made me, that was a 5 star experience. They had great energy. I'm almost sure I had a joke to go in here, but i think I'm too tired. So instead, thank you kind people at firehouse subs to make that one day a not so terrible day in a sea of bad days. Because let's be honest the years start coming and they dont stop coming (yes I did) and I'll take any good day I can get, and these guys were the ones to make...
