Well worth the extra maneuvering around block from 8th street. The char broiled chicken was tender and tasty, even at the edges.
I was wearing temporary crowns after major dental work, and was uncertain about whether they would stay on. I was pleasantly surprised at the near perfect easy to chew chicken texture.
The roasted corn was excellent. So was the Chihuahua corn on a later visit.
The jalapeño dip was a pleasant surprise as it has a little kick but won't "make your hair sweat".
2nd trip, their ice cream machine was back up and running. So I tried their milk shake. Wonderful respite from the heat.
Definitely adding this place to my usual lunch time circuit as it is a good quantity vs cost point, comes with good sides, and while further west than my usual noon excursions, is within the banking and post office run side trip radius.
I even made an evening stop for a larger supper order one scorching hot evening where thermodynamics of the day's meteorology made cooking at home a chore best avoided.
Everyone loved it, and the kitchen was not transformed into a blast furnace or a steam boiler for...
Read moreI've gone to this place several times and each time I'm disappointed I've tried giving them the benefit of the doubt but nope first time I went I ordered sausage, chicken and brisket places for my entire family and once I got home to see very dry and what seemed to be old meat it had discoloration and didn't taste good at all $80 down the drain. The second time I ordered 2 birria quesadillas they were extremely salty and then today I thought why not give them another chance and order something different I ordered a corn and I asked if the corn was in a cup or was it a whole cob of corn she replied in a cup so I was ok with it and then I ordered fajitas and when I got my food I saw that yet again it was super dry and old looking and my corn was in fact not in a cup like I wanted but a whole corn on the cob dressed with all the fixing which came off when I unwrapped the foil 😑 this place is horrible I'm never going there again!! They need a new...
Read moreI tried both locations so I will combine them into one. First don't order turkey legs at either locations. They advertise them but they don't actually have any. Two the "carne asada " ( if that's what you think carne asada is) at one location is very salty and the other no flavor. Both equally fatty/greasy meat. The 1lb is very small. Chihuahua corn had no flavor. Their 1/4 chicken is really just a wing and rib of a very small chicken with little to no meat and very dry (just bones). They don't let you pick peices so if you want a drumstick don't expect one. One had a full bar the other didn't. Sides are small. Rice is hard and taste old and bland. Corn tortillas were dry and hard. Overall won't be back to any location. The price or taste not worth it. Oh and this locations dropped all the food on the floor and I don't know what they...
