When you've done burgers and fries for over 40 years, they're gonna be good. I got the chili cheese burger and it was delicious. The chili is probably some of the best I've had and the shredded cheese on top really complements it. Their fries are top notch too. They're similar to five guys in cut and flavor. Definitely taste fresh not frozen. The interesting part for me was the concept itself. If you get a combo, you get your burger on a plate with 3 partitions, 1 for the burger and the 2 others can be used to fill with beans and fries or all beans or all fries...you serve yourself the sides so you pick what you want. So after you get your burger you pass through a self-serve bar that has those 2 items plus a desert. Then you pay and get your drink cup and off you go to find a place to sit. It was a really good set up. They also have cherry coke as an option for their fountain which is a rare find these days. Only down side is their limited hours. Food was delicious and service was great, I can tell a bunch of locals come here due to the employees knowing customers names 😅 felt a little outta place but I survived... First you walk in, grab you a tray, napkins & utensils then place your order they hand it to you right then and there no need to wait. As soon as they give you your plate there is a tray with fries and beans next to it you grab what you want, then you scoot down and they have dessert options then a cup with ice ready for you to go. I wanted an above average hamburger. I also used to get a Hickory Burger from a place called The Training Table which went out of business a few years ago. I found this place has a Hickory Burger on their menu, so I had to try it. IT WAS DELICIOUS. It's as close to the perfect burger as I've found here. The flavor is amazing.
