I worked here for a year and then some. My second Job after Wendy's jerked me around time and time again.
I can say from an insider perspective that our food certainly isn't as cheap as it used to be before Russ sold out to Corporate. However, I encourage everyone to bookmark our coupons on their phone. The website updates monthly with our current deals on discounted food items. Makes ordering much easier on the wallet.
I want to describe the staff. A good amount of them are passionate about delivering great service and making people's days better. But we also have our fair share of negative Nancy's who couldn't care less. These people aren't scheduled much, so just know it's not you, it's them.
They have what's called a courtesy cone. It's a tiny ice cream cone that you can get for free. 1 per person per day. Chocolate, vanilla, or Twist are your options.
In terms of the food, I think they're okay but nothing that'll knock your socks off. But our chicken and our fish are ab-so-lute-ly amazing.
They don't have a value/$1 menu. Stop asking.
The shakes and the ice cream, when made correctly, are to die for! Don't listen to the haters, our ice cream is better than McDonalds. And the machines don't break as often either.
And who can forget the Utah-exclusive Fry Sauce? Our building was where the original fry sauce was proposed and patented. We got the authentic stuff. You can get a whole bottle for around 3 bucks.
Finally. Give new staff some encouragement. For a lot of them, this is their first job. If you remember your first job, you know what I'm talking about. My first night a kind woman came through and saw I did everything I could to make her order work. She called the store and told the assistant manager how great I did. That meant so much to me that they would take the time to compliment me. It helped me remember that fast food is about making people happy and making minimum wage while your at it. So next time you see a new employee, give them encouraging words to help them remember why they're there ☺
Thank you, have a good...
Read moreUsually I'd enjoy Arctic Circle, their food is often above regular fast food, but the service was terrible today. I came in to grab a quick bite to eat with some friends at around 9:20. At first we were worried we came in during close as all the lights were off outside including the sign. The door said they closed at 10 and the staff said they were open so we headed in. We had finished ordering at around 9:25 and I had only ordered a shake with cheese curds to share. Our shake came out quick but are cheese curds were forgotten. By 9:40 we had figured out there must have been a mistake so I went up to the counter and waited for someone to assist me which took another five minutes as they cleaned in the back. When informed of the mistake I was only greeted by a passive aggressive sigh and a "God, I just want to get out of here," by the lady behind the counter as she told the cook to start some. I sat back down to wait. I worked in the food industry a lot and am usually understanding of late night rushes but in this case it was only my group(only three of us mind you), a couple who already ordered, and a person in the drive through. At 9:50 the same lady locked the door opposite of the drive way. This resulted in the couple having to wait for her to come unlock the door so they could get out. By this time it's 9:55 and we finally got our cheese curds. We don't like to be those people who stick around after close so we take them to go and head out to the car. Except, the door is re-locked. We look over to the lady in which she says, "go around." Obviously at this point we're frustrated and ask politely if she could unlock the door so we could get to our car parked in front of that door, rather than go around the entire building. Again, we were greeted with nothing but annoyed sighs as she walked over. A 40 minute ordeal for about a $12 med. shake/mediocre cheese curds and unapologetically bad service. Forget it, not...
Read moreIf I could give it a -5 I would. I love arctic circle, I really do. However, I don't usually use this one on Washington. So my wife and I decide to stop and grab something quick, because I have something to do. I order two small burgers, small fry, small drink and 1 corn dog. I know it takes a minute to deep fry the corn dog(if they even do that there), but from the time I ordered until I got my food was over 25 minutes.... While I sat in the drive through watching the kid making the burgers take his hat off, and rub his hands through his greasy hair, then go right back to making the burgers...
When I finally got my food she offered me a .69 cent ice cream cone for my wait, which I turned down (not wanting to wait 5 minutes for a dang cone). By now the kid making the burgers just comes up, leans on the counter and stares at me.
I wanted to say something so bad, but I knew if I opened my mouth I would loose it.
So if your in the area and have a half hour to burn, stop at The Dragon Chinese food a block away. Better food, cleaner place,...
