My fiance and I were both hungry and thought lets take a look around online and see if we can find a good Chinese place to eat at. We read the reviews on yelp and noticed that there were quite a few 4 and 5 star reviews and a few 1 stars and thought why not and headed out to go eat there. The lunch special prices seemed reasonable ($5.50) so we ordered a dragon special (the special of the restaurant) as a lunch special. After delivering our soup the waitress stated that unfortunately they do not offer the dragon special as a lunch special only dinner even though it had a listed price for a lunch special on their specials menu. Not wanting to be fickle over a few dollars we said go ahead and give us the dinner special. When it arrived it looked just like the picture. Upon trying it however it was very bland with hardly any seasonings or sauce. We both tried a bite of everything and the only thing that was even remotely okay was the egg-roll. I have never sent anything back before and after conferring with my fiance we decided we would let the waitress know. When the waitress walked by again we politely informed her that everything was bland and we didn't like it and we wanted to send it back and either get something else or a refund even offering to pay for what we actually did eat (the egg-roll and the starting soup). She then said she would go get the cook and we explained the same thing to her when she arrived. They stated that we would have to pay for it because they "are just going to have to throw out just like us". Never once was an apology given for the inadequate food. We then asked for something else to which she said that we would have to pay for that item too and there was no exchanges. After debating about it for a few minutes with the rude cook/manager we agreed to just pay for it and leave. I will not be returning. The Scoop and Go fast food Chinese food tastes better than this. Save your money and go somewhere else. Poor food can be fixed poor customer service...
Read moreNon-locals beware: Hands down this was the blandest Chinese food I’ve ever had, as well as just being wrong on so many levels.
The lo mein was made with thick udon noodles, which is strange, and on top of that had no flavor, despite being super soggy. Usually they’re soggy and full of flavor but nope, just soggy.
The moo shoo pork was watery and also had no flavor, on account of the sauce pooling at the bottom of the container. The only thing they got right was they used the correct (pre-made/bought) wraps, although the dish was so watery it soaked right through and broke up the wraps. The only thing that saved this was some (key word) THICK teriyaki sauce I had at home, which should not go on this dish… yet it was the only thing I could do to save the dish.
I WILL say the guy at the front desk was super friendly, but what’s the point when the food is so disappointing?
This just isn’t Chinese food. It’s neither authentic nor Americanized Chinese. It tastes like if you were to try to make Chinese food at home without all the ingredients and this was your first attempt.
Maybe locals out here have very mild taste buds or aren’t very adventurous? A 4+ star rating from here makes no sense to me. This is less than 1 star where I’m from.
Just go to Ocean Mart and get your own ingredients and do...
Read moreI ordered sesame beef combo and the beef tasted slightly like vinegar and definitely a bit rancid. The fried rice was very bland, the egg roll was dripping with grease and the shrimp also lacked any flavor... if it weren't for the tail I wouldn't have known I was eating shrimp. My friend ordered sweet and sour chicken and said the same thing about his dish, that it was mostly flavorless but at least his was edible. I ate two pieces of the meat and he tried a piece of mine as well and said the same thing. What was ridiculous is that the waiter didn't get the manager, still billed me even though I barely touched the meal. When I was asked by the cashier how the meal was, I told her and she said "oh I wouldn't have ordered that". Really? You say that about your own food and yet you still charge people for these dishes. Lesson learned and $25 wasted. I'm shocked they have the reviews that they do. It was without a doubt the worst Chinese food me or my...
