Diner on Sunday before labor Day was a bad decision. This place was mediocre cafeteria food, at a premium price. Got a lobster roll in a paper basket with a bag of cape cod chips. Lobster was small diced pieces, plain and cold no chunks of tail or claws, and did I mention premium price$$$. It was pretty small, less than half a dinner knife length. My wife got a tuna salad on a dinner salad. The tuna salad was just plain tuna with no noticable chopped onion or celery or anything else, just opened a can of tuna. Wait service was very slow. We got seated with menus and waited 10 min for the waitress. She brought water and took our order. Didn't see her again for more than 10 min. Had to ask another staff for a straw. She brought our meal and we didn't see her again. Had to flag her down 20 min later to pay the bill. The maitre D was acting frustrated with the number of large parties coming in, but when someone he knew came in he was all smiles handshakes and right this way please. The whole area was bustling with people trying to get the upper hand. Way overcrowded for my liking, probably not likely to come back any time soon.

Best part of Oarweed was their convenient free parking. First time there, and most likely our last. Our waitress was Crabby!. The view was nice, but right next to the sidewalk for Marginal Way. Their menu was limited. My husband and I got sides and the crab cakes. While eating the cakes I saw the “crabmeat” that definitely look like imitation crab or surimi. I asked our waitress if it was real crab, (living near Maine and Florida) I know what real crab looks like, and this was NOT real crab. When I asked the waitress if this was real or imitation? She said I assume it’s real, I asked if she could please ask the kitchen, (as it sometimes turns my stomach) she was pissed, but came back and said she asked the owner and its real crab. Regardless I highly doubt it. Not impressed, won’t be back. Jackie Too’s ! Has a great view and better menu, also Barnicle Billys has parking and a fabulous bay view. Plus hopefully a nice server!! Good thing my husband tipped cuz she wouldn’t have gotten that good tip from me! It’s simple to be pleasant as a waitress, i waitressed for years, was always very attentive and kind.

I've eaten at Oarweed three times over the last year and each has been somewhere between fantastic and okay, with varying levels of service and quality of food. Sometimes you have to wait upward of an hour for a table, sometimes you can be seated immediately. The whole experience is a little hit or miss. Biggest draw here is the view; you're sitting right on the water in Perkins Cove with an absolutely stellar backdrop to enjoy while you eat. Time your meal here over sunset and you're in for a treat. Food here can be hit or miss. Things I've eaten include: - Seafood chowder (4/5) - Shrimp cocktail (3.5/5) - Crab dip (6/5, but they took it off the menu. According to our server, the owner was too cheap to keep buying the crab. BRING BACK THE CRAB DIP!!) - Artichoke and spinach dip, which replaced the crab dip (3/5) - Seafood trio (4/5) - Crab cakes (3.5/5) - Blueberry beer (5/5) Definitely try your luck here, if for nothing else than the picturesque setting!

Been in Perkins Cove a million times, but this is only my 2nd time here. This is probably my strongest 4 rating ever. That’s attributable to the incredible service, the insane view and the host & management team. It’s high season so it was super chaotic. Those guys were level headed, calm and good listeners. We got right in (on a Friday night). Fans everywhere let a breeze moving making it comfortable. Good service was on point and timely. Observed good teamwork which is a plus. Food is pretty good. No complaints. Everything met our expectations. No overly complex dishes. Mostly east coast favorites. Positive thing that we noticed that the menu offered some very affordable options in the most desirable spot in Ogunquit, on the water (Marginal Way). The next day we recommended this place.
