Our FAV place in OGT. 5* all around (the bar side does get a lil loud in eves just FYI - sports and laughter et al). Food is always great! This past week, my husband had the seafood haddock and loved it. He usually gets the fillet and it’s always cooked perfectly. This time I opted for-the lobster roll very lil butter no mayo, and I got a side of their smashed potatoes, instead of the fries. We have had nachos(THE BEST) and the pizza too. Oh hubby loved Pork Chop in past, and my all time fave was the special. -Halibut.It was incredible Staff- Tim, Rick (owner), Andrea, Macy… and the chefs 👨‍🍳-the entirety of staff are wonderful. I don’t know his name, but the valet who parks the car is there every time we go, and he is Professional and sweet Recommendation: call for Reservations Bar, and high top seating, is first come first serve, and always full with locals and regulars traveling. The dining room is lovely (5*) quiet for romantic dinner, open enough for big family dinner, or groups of friend. Big windows, fireplace. Outdoor seating on shore road seasonally Cannot wait to go back Open year round! Ty Cathleen Collins of Cathleen Donald Antiques Boston

"That Place" was a restaurant with a very nice atmosphere. There were broad based dinning options from a regular dinning area to a lively bar to a pleasant outdoor eating area on Shore drive. The meal started with a nice size portion of a tasty Caesar salad. The main courses included caramelized salmon which was well presented and prepared with a very tasty sauce. The other entree was shrimp stuffed with crab meat. The sauce was very tasty and was creamy and rich. The crabmeat stuffing had filler and did not compliment the entree as much as it could have. Our server was very pleasant, polite and attentive. Unfortunately, we did not sample as much of the menu as usual, as we had eaten a very late lunch. In summary, a very pleasant nicer restaurant that I would clearly advise a return visit. The food was very good and suspect that sampling more menu items would likely improve their rsting.

Outrageous food, lively scene, great cocktails, phenomenal staff. A bar that seats maybe 20 with high tops that seat another 20, I have never come here on a quiet night. No matter the day or time I feel like This Place 😆 is hoppin with locals and outties (out of towners). We grabbed two seats at the bar but the dining area is also very nice. We started with buffalo cauliflower which converted me because I hate cauliflower. As a backup I did grab the steak and tomato bruschetta which was fantastic melt in your mouth steak and covered in fresh Parmesan cheese. We were full from apps so we just grabbed another app, pork belly which was delicious as well, crispy and tender. Keep in mind parking is scarce in this area but they do have complimentary valet! Don’t pass “That Place” up as its worth it! Don’t forget to hit the thumbs up if you liked my review!!

So, I guess I’ll start with saying that as a family, we’ve been coming here across the years and it’s always been a hit or miss.

Last time about two years ago, it was great. My brother had the burger from the bar menu, my dad had steak and lobster, my mother always gets the Portuguese seafood melody, and I love the shrimp and pesto pasta.

This time around however, it was a bit disappointing to say the least. My dad ordered the penne pasta with added lobster and found it to be incredibly garlicky, to the point that is all it tasted like. The aftertaste he said was disgusting and he immediately needed gum to try and help with the awful taste it left in his mouth. My mother found the Portuguese seafood melody to be lacking in flavour, normally it’s spicy and the broth is packed with flavour, but this time around it tasted watered down and had little to no taste. The seafood was cooked perfectly at least, so that’s one positive. My pasta was good, however it did feel more oily than normal which was odd, but flavour was fine. My brother was unable to get his usual as apparently the bar menu is now only available outside or at the bar. Although previously, it was never an issue to order from that menu in the dining room. I guess they changed the rules which sucks a bit, but oh well.

Atmosphere is still nice, tables are well spaced and it’s not too loud. They dim the lights later on in the day and you have a candle that gets lit on the middle of your table, so the ambiance is nice. The restaurant is also very clean and well kept.

Our waitress was polite, but she did feel distant, she didn’t really check in with us throughout the meal which sucks as it would have given us the chance to mention our concerns.

On a final note, make sure you book a reservation!! We’ve been turned away in the past for not having one. I’m not sure if they have changed the policy or if it’s still reservation only. But better to be safe, so I would book one if you’re going to eat here.

Overall, I’m not in a hurry to return unfortunately, but who knows, maybe sometime in the future we will give...

My Husband and I retired and moved to Maine a couple years ago, we have tried so many restaurants around the Wells, Kennebunkport and Ogunquit areas. Some were good and some where bad ! That Place was always consistently good!

From the minute we walk through the door , were always greeted with a friendly hello and it doesn’t matter how busy they are! Which they are so reservations are helpful.

We now decided to dine there at a much earlier time to be able to get a table. That place is the place we go to weekly. The drinks are fabulous, and if you like Chardonnay ,the Cambria Chardonnay by the bottle is a nice choice ! For appetizers you can’t go wrong on any of them! My favorites are the calamari, the lobster Cristini, the shrimp cocktail and the Bacon wrapped scallops! All are amazing! The Dinner favorites are baked stuffed haddock, and their Steaks which are always cooked perfectly and have a nice char on them! The porch chop is excellent and it’s a great dish for the Fall and winter it’s warm comforting and delicious with the Apple onion compote! We also enjoy their beet salad which is clean and refreshing for Spring and Summer!

That Places severs are top notch. Personality& Professionalism. I was brought up in the restraunt business and I do love to cook ! So maybe the less then 5 star ratings were off nights for the chefs or possibly an off night for a crowded restaurant because of their delicious food? So all in all I would rate That Place five stars with it being our to go restaurant...
