Big Apple Cafe on Log Pond — Restaurant in Ohio

I'm on vacation in Ohio and I was looking for a good breakfast spot this morning. When I came across a review that said this was the breakfast in the state of Ohio, I was intrigued. Once I read the menu and found the crab cake Benedict, I knew I had to go there. The crab cakes were moist and tender, definitely cooked to order and were absolutely phenomenal! We also had the cafe breakfast and split an order of the biscuits and gravy, which they were kind enough to split onto separate plates for us. The food was absolutely fantabulous, no other way to say it because I will be back before I leave in a couple days and because we are both definitely fans!

Our server, Jamie, was so amazing. She refilled coffee several times more than I'm used to back home, and she gave amazing service. The food was so good that I placed a carryout for later since they close at 2. I can't wait to try my additional selections!

I was able to pass along the details of my amazing first visit to an owner of this amazing restaurant as I was leaving. She said it made her day, we truly had an amazing experience from the moment we walked in.

As a long time restaurant worker/ operator, this is a place you want to try because they really knocked it out of the park. Also, they actually know how to cook eggs to order, I wish they would go to Indy and coach some of our old haunts how to cook eggs so I could start going to those...

I've eaten here several times and this last time was not good.

Had the Ruben and fries and both were not good.

The Ruben must have sat under a heat lamp while the rest of the order was being made because the bread on the bottom was soggy. Not a little soggy but wet, no one wants wet toast. The sandwich was put together with no care and really underwhelming portion considering it was $8.25. Worst Ruben I've ever been served and they are not complicated to make.

I don't know how you screw up french fries. Some were crispy some were soggy and some were under done. I have a fryer, I don't know how that's possible. They must be mixing batches but who knows.

When I sent it back she asked if I wanted something else but she really didn't care why I sent it back. Usually when you send food back someone asks why, the waitress or the manager but no luck.

Worst experience I had at a restaurant in awhile and really disappointed because this place is usually great.

My wife and I love The Big Apple Cafes. The 21st location is our favorite because it’s close to home and everyone is always so pleasant and friendly. Yesterday my wife and I came in for breakfast as we do most Saturday mornings. The woman who cooks bread behind the counter delivered our food. Before I even had a chance to ask for Diet syrup for my wife, she dropped our plates down and took off. I have attempted to make conversation with this lady multiple times when I come in and sit at the bar by myself. She is never nice and never seems to smile. I’m not sure if maybe my wife and I have done something upset her, or if she’s like that with others as well.
