Walrus Subs — Restaurant in Ohio

My wife and I have been patronizing Walrus Subs for years now, even before the fire. Although they’ve been opened up for about 3 years since then, we are happy they were able to come back.

We ordered food tonight, Ohio style cheesesteak, Walrus Fries, a kids hot dog meal, and a BLT. The cheesesteaks here are my favorite in the area, I’d put them up against anyone. My wife enjoys their BLT so much because they are not afraid to actually put bacon on it. My toddler devoured her hot dog and fries. And don’t even get me started on the Walrus Fries. From the cook on the fries, to the way the flavors from the cheese, ranch, and hot sauce all blend together… man are they great. Not too much heat either.

Needless to say, we enjoy the food and service when we order from here. Just know that sometimes they get busy and with the way the world is, there will be a wait! But they’re busy for a reason, and that’s because the food is that dang good. Thanks to Walrus Subs for the amazing service to their customers and...

Came to the Youngstown area from Miami for a business trip and Reddit recommended this place. Amongst us Hispanic folks, we say the 3 Bs: Bueno, Bonito y Barrato and Walrus Subs brought up a 4th B: Bastante. I saw the gentleman who I believe is the owner throw a styrofoam container and I thought it was the philly; turns out it was the small fries and that was before he put a baseball bat of a sub into the bag. I had to let him know that Walrus was hyped online and he doubled down on it saying it was the best philly from here to Philly and I gotta say… I’m so glad I didn’t wait until getting to the hotel 25 minutes later to eat it. Might be a bold take but as sucker for phillies, it tops the Flannigans one from Miami in terms of taste, portion and price (IYKYK); I waited less time waiting for the food than I did eating it on the way back. Bravo fam, you didn’t have to wait until I leave the gym for me to type up this review. Thank you very much, keep killing it, and I hope to see you guys sooner...

I can't believe the negative ratings. This place is awesome 👍. Would give 10 stars if possible. I'm a big old guy, and can pack some food. Well, ordered the Walrus burger, it was huge, that I couldn't even finish it all, saved some for the following day, which is rare 😆. My roommate got the Philly Cheese steak, same thing, huge, delicious, and she could only eat about half. Also got a kids burger for our spoiled lil puppy, and it was more adult size than kids size. They were more than accommodating also, when I told them I have a hard time getting in and out of the car and need to use a walker, he said just call soon as you pull up and we will bring it out to you, which was very nice. I love Fish on Fridays, still haven't tried it yet. The only downside is no delivery and not in my path of driving home from work otherwise I would probably order more...
