So this isn’t going to hinder me going to this restaurant or anything what I’m about to say I just want to voice my situation that I ran into as a customer:
so I have three puppies and I have brought each of them into this restaurant multiple times and I had somebody for the first time say something to me. Now take note I’ve brought them in here a lot and somebody JUST said something to me the other day on April 24 they said that I could not have my dogs in there and I told them that I had them as an ESA and that I had letters, but I didn’t have the letter at the time and they said well if you go ahead and get that letter, you should be OK. I went in there again today with the letter on my phone ready to show them and she still refused to let me stay when I explained to her that an ESA can be in there. She seemed irritated, but she did go ahead and serve me, but she was very visibly irritated and annoyed. I also want to point out that there is no sign on the door outside that says dogs aren’t allowed and I hadn’t been acknowledged about bringing my dogs in until that day like if my dogs were a problem something should’ve been said to me the first time I brought them in. My dogs do not cause any problems when I bring them in there they don’t bother anybody so I don’t see an issue with bringing them in there and I’m literally in there for at most like 15 minutes. They don’t bother anybody and I have letters from a therapist that says I can have each and every...
Read moreJust finished eating there with my husband as we were passing through town on our way back home to Parrish. I ordered the hot caramel macchiato and it was delicious- had a very rich and distinct flavor. For lunch I ordered the chicken spinach panini (½ size) and it was flavorful, loaded and barely finished it. A good amount of food for 1/2 size! For my side, I took a chance and ordered the pea salad. When I asked the girl at the counter what it was she responded with “it’s just peas, mayonnaise, and egg”….she completely undersold it lol- it was so good! My husband had a sweet tea, bag of chips with his cranberry pecan chicken salad sandwich on croissant- they loaded it up with their delicious, savory chicken salad and it was perfectly balanced with their delicious sweetness of the cranberries. The croissants are huge and he was only able to finish half. I’m definitely keeping this place in mind next time we pass through town again. Oh- and they have a cute little vintage shop in the back corner of the restaurant to purchase vintage items- we left with an adorable lantern from Magnolia Sisters that I can’t wait to display on my coffee bar at home. I regret not having my phone on me to take photos of our order but their photos are already...
Read moreI recently visited Nutmeg's Cafe in Okeechobee, and it was a great experience! The cafe has a charming, vintage vibe with hodge podge decor that makes you feel right at a country market. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel like a regular from the moment I walked in.
The menu offers a fantastic variety of sandwiches, salads, and homemade quiches. I tried the ham and broccoli quiche, which was recommended by a staff member, and it was absolutely delicious! The ingredients were fresh, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. I also couldn't resist trying one of their cakeballs, which were heavenly.
The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for a casual lunch or a relaxing afternoon. The cafe also offers a selection of gourmet "Working Cow Homemade Ice Cream," which is a must-try.
Overall, Nutmeg's Cafe is a hidden gem in Okeechobee. The food is top-notch, the service is excellent, and the ambiance is just right. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal in a warm, friendly...
