People in OKC need to travel a bit and eat some decent food. We are a transplant here and almost always walk away disappointed from restaurants that are highly rated on Google. This place was no different. Ordered a steak (filet), Chicken Picata, and a german chocolate cake with drinks. Ordered medium rare, the server olaced it on the rable and asked me to cut it so he could see if I was fine with the level of cooking. I mean I would expect the kitchen to know what they are doing. Why would a customer need to cut the steak for the staff to confirm if the steak meets medium rare or not. For $38, the Steak was 3 out of five. Portion size was tiny and I understand inflation might have played a role there. Baked potato and cesar salad sides were neither good nor bad. Totally unremarkable. My wife finished the 5 chicken pieces and left the rest of the bland dish (Chicken Picata order). Then enters the star of the show. The german chocolate cake. Just look at the picture. It was the most awful cake we had ever eaten at a relatively high end restaurant (or at least how the pricing and interior looked like). We couldn't find any chocolate and it was full of coconut filling. It looked so much like a carrot cake and tastes like one we asked the waiter to confirm it was chocolate cake. It was cold in the bottom, but warm on top, just what you would expect from a slice left for days without selling and probably reheated before serving. We took a few bites and left it on the table for staff to admire thier creation. You guys can decide for yourself but i wouldnt go here for any special occasion.

Let me start by saying..the SHRIMP ESCARGOT is amazing!!!!!!!! My Dad ordered some and honestly I didn't pay attention to it being SHRIMP..I just saw Escargot and kept looking.. if you love shrimp, it's a must have. Okay..We had reservations for a bridal party set for a Friday evening. They didn't really seem prepared for our party. Some of the family left because they felt it was unorganized and there wasn't enough seats but once things got going things got better. All of the staff was very friendly and patient. Our orders started coming out smoothly and for the most part accurately but unfortunately they were out of mashed potatoes so some of the party had to pick other options after their food came out. The food was delicious and their were t many complaints but I was not a fan of the shrimp Scampi I ordered. My noodles tasted like they had been fried and it was pretty dry and my shrimp was way overcooked but I loved everything else. They also have a cool and clean bathroom. We always come here for our family events in OKC and I'm sure we'll be back. Just be a little more prepared for reserved parties.

We decided to go to the Charlestons on Memorial. They had delicious, tasty food and amazing dining experience. We went here for our 20-year Anniversary dinner and had incredible team-service starting with Austin our waiter to multiple people clearing dishes, delivering food, and refilling drinks! We were able to take part in the social hour and got the dynamite shrimp which was so tasty, sweet-spicy-crunchy fried shrimp with flavorful angel hair pasta and lightly spicy, super tasty queso and chips for $6 and $5 respectively. I ordered the hand-cut filet and forgot to take a picture but was it was tender, juicy, flavorful served with a loaded baked potato, and house salad with their incredibly soft, buttery crescent. Then for dessert, we ordered the new brownie and Oh Wow! It had a delicious buttery, creamy toffee sauce with walnuts and french vanilla ice cream. We had such an amazing experience from the incredible service to the delicious food. We will definitely go again.

It's a good restaurant, but I thought I should write this review, because if you Google search for "vegetarian" food in Oklahoma City, this place pops up. It is NOT vegetarian friendly, at all!! We went to the one on the Expressway two weeks ago. Both of my daughters eat a meatless diet (not vegan, and they will eat dairy and eggs). There was ONE meatless item on the menu...spinach artichoke dip. Every the house salad comes with bacon. I was very nice, asked the waiter about options.

"Well, we can leave the meat out of some things and double up on the tomatoes. That's what one of our waitresses does."

"Does it cost the same if we ask you to leave out the meat?"

"Yeah? What do you want."

He was clearly very annoyed that we even asked. I asked because this is not a cheap place to eat. So not only were there literally no options besides one appetizer, they don't even like you asking about a pretty simple accommodation, like ordering a salad, leaving out the chicken and charging a fair price for it. It's weird, too, because they actually have an entire "gluten free" menu with a pretty good selection...

We were very polite, cancelled our drink order, and left, which annoyed the guy even more. Like we were OBLIGATED to stay and pay for food that we were not going to eat, especially when the server was rude? I get that not every restaurant will meet EVERYONE'S dietary needs, tastes, etc., but this is not a steakhouse...even a steakhouse has a few meatless options. Heck, even Taco Bell will happily meet your needs...but not Charlestons.

It's good food, I've been there several times, but Google definitely needs to remove this as a...

We Eat Hal Smith almost everyday in some way shape or form, Charlestons has really went downhill and it very disappointing. For instance tonight we stopped for a quick bite, food was good we just had a side salad, burger and two kids meals. I ordered a perfect margarita like i usually do, tonight I swear it had zero alcohol in it, when I asked our server her response was “well it just depends on who the bartender is…”

So just FYI only go on the nights the actual bartender uses alcohol I can I next door to Pepperoni grill they DEFINITELY make drinks correctly anytime.

I tried to speak to a manager yet none came to table granted I didn’t ask our server but I did ask two different servers to speak with a manager, we also had to ask three different servers for our checks all while they continue to clear our table we actually sat for a few minutes after table had been completely cleared for our server to bring ticket then she acted put out when I immediately handed her my card she said “I guess you are ready to pay now? No dessert?” I said no we were in a bit of a rush to make basketball practice…

Tried calling multiple times upon leaving and phone is...
