China House — Restaurant in Oklahoma City

I ordered the lunch special which comes with a soup and I decided to add a egg roll. The lady on the phone tells me its $14.00, I ask her why is it so much if the lunch special is $5.25 the egg roll is $1.25 so the total should be around $9ish. She then informs me the minimum is $14.00 so, if I didn't ask I would had paid $6.00 more for no extra food that would add up to the minimum. She than gives me the option to pay the full $14.00 or add more food to my order so it could add to $14.00. I asked to get a bottled sprite, so she adds it to my order it's still under $14.00 but I went a head and paid it, since I didn't want anything else. I get my order delivered and I notice my bottled sprite expired on 09/11/2017. Like what the heck is this, aside that I just gave them extra money I also get a expired drink. Never again!

So, I called and ask for the manager. Instead of hearing me out, she wants to argue with me that the minimum is $12.00 when the lady I spoke to said it was $14.00. I asked her if they didn't inform their customers of the minimum before placing their orders over the phone. She said no because they have the menu. I told her I didn't have the menu and I wasn't aware of the minimum amount. I was aware there was going to be a delivery fee but I didn't know how much they required for delivery. Her answer was well now you know. This restaurant is scamming people to pay for more without informing them over the phone of the minimum for delivery. So, even if your order is less than $14.00 you still pay $14.00 even though your order is not equivalent to the price. This place doesn't even deserve a star. Also, I informed her of the expired pop and then she confirms that it is expired. Like WTH, don't they check their delivery order before taking it. This place is...

Ordered at 603pm and no food delivered for over an hour. Called to check on food at 706pm, and the lady said the driver should be here soon because she left "awhile ago". I called the restaurant back at 715pm because the food still wasn't delivered and I wanted to cancel as I don't want cold food for dinner. The lady said the driver was the manager so they couldn't issue a refund over the phone. I said "ok" and that I would cancel it when the food arrived. The lady was unapologetic and just hung up after I agreed to wait by the way. Anyway it's 726pm and the food finally arrived. I asked if I could get a refund because I don't want cold food. The lady said there was traffic and it was a busy night, but she would call the restaurant to check.. so obviously this lady was *not the manager as I was told.. She got off the phone and said they can't refund because the food has already arrived, but they could give me a 20% discount which was an "employees only" discount (lucky me!). I asked once more if I could get a refund as it was about 1.5 hours from the time I ordered. She said, "no it hasn't been an hour and a half". I said, "ok.. it's been an hour and 25 minutes." She insisted again I could only get 20% off. I was tired of dealing with them at this point and took the discount. Won't be ordering...

You can see my original review below, from when I rated this place 4 stars over a year ago. Well, things have changed and Google doesn't let you add a new review, only to edit the old, so here is what this place is now:

Used to order from here a lot for the office, it was good. In the last year, it has just gotten worse and worse. They never accept their mistakes or make up for them. The food that shows up is often not hot and the quality of the meats is lower than any other chinese place in town. I will go anywhere else and pick it up myself it they don't have delivery from now on. I've given them 5 chances since the first time the food went downhill and it has just gotten worse. I give up on this place and suggest that you go anywhere else if you want decent quality ingredients and fresh food.

Original Review: The person that said this place is bad and suggests Asian House or Grand House doesn't know what they are talking about. Placed 9 orders, they were delivered within 45 minutes at lunch time. Food was hot and fresh and quite good. Grand House has gone downhill over the years and is mediocre at best. Asian House is just nasty.

The service here was friendly, orders were accurate, prices are very reasonable. This will now be a regular option...
