I have NEVER been so HUMILIATED in my entire life! I'm a general manager for a prominent business here in south OKC, and wanted to order a smoked turkey for my employees for our Thanksgiving celebration at work. I found this BBQ joint and was excited that I was going to be able to do something special for my employees that work SO hard. I called 2 weeks in advance to place my order, and I even let them know what time I would be by to pick it up. When I arrived, they were busy. I patiently waited my turn in line and finally I got up there to let them know I was here to pick up my order. It was obviously clear that my order was not there, but I could tell the ladies at the front were working hard to try and get my order prepared. I waited and waited as other people were handed their pre-ordered turkeys, and was finally confronted by one of the ladies at the front that my turkey was still going to be another 30 minutes because it wasn't ready. I VERY politely stated to the lady that that wasn't going to be ok for me, and that our celebration had already started and I couldn't wait another 30 minutes on top of how long I had already been there. She then went to the back to talk to her dad, who is apparently the owner. Before I knew it, the man in the back comes to talk to me out front in a VERY crowded restaurant. I explained how I called ahead and ordered and even let them know what time I was going to arrive, and he proceeded to start SCREAMING at me. Yelling that he was "tired of talking to me already" and that the turkey I ordered 2 weeks ago wasn't going to be done. At this point, I was SO EMBARRASED! This old man is sitting here YELLING at me in front of a packed restaurant for a turkey that I ORDERED ahead of time. Finally I told the man to cancel my order and I started to walk out of the restaurant...all the while this man is STILL SCREAMING at me the whole time I am trying to politely leave this establishment. Keep in mind, this is the FIRST time I have ever even seen or stepped foot into this restaurant. He proceeded to yell at me to never come back, and some other stuff I can't remember out of pure HUMILIATION. I told the man to have a Happy Thanksgiving as I walked out the door and he CONTINUED to YELL at me and said "oh, well I will have a good Thanksgiving now!"
I have worked in customer service for 16+ years, with 10+ years in customer service management...and for people that know me, know I have pretty tough skin. It takes a lot to embarrass me or upset me. What I experienced today, was beyond me. No one should EVER be treated the way that man treated me today. I have never been able to try the food, but I can guarantee you I will NEVER do business here and I will tell EVERYONE I come in contact...
Read moreMy Family was so happy to find this place and I recommended it to many. Went nearly weekly . We were there the other day and as we walked in there was a crowd of about 10. Only one other lady . There were 5of us so it took a few minutes to order and get everything correct. Apparently in the mean time the owners wife had come in waiting behind us. Turns out the big crowd was his family he was feeding. He came marching behind counter barking what's taking so long? His hands covered in grease as if he'd been working on a car. Started barking at the girls waiting on us and practically flinged our drink cups barking what else are you missing? We were trying to order desserts but was forced to move on. Went back to counter to order desserts after he sat down and I had a peach cobbler which as I finished found a big near bottom of it. I can handle that but what I can't handle is spending nearly $100 to be treated lower than dirt. From what I saw we were the paying customer s . 5 out of 15 in the restaurant paying. I will Not take my family back even though I love the bbq. It's not worth being treated so rudely. I will find somewhere else where Customers are treated with apprecation. He would never allow me to go in his place if business and disrespect him so why is it ok for him to...
Read moreMy husband and I were in the mood for bbq and his coworkers mentioned Dales being worth a try. The restaurant had a very fun environment. There was lots of signs, art, and memorabilia on the walls. I love looking at this kind of stuff! Nostalgia is awesome!
They were helpful and it's easy to order. There's a counter with signs and food on display to entice you.
My husband and I both got the 2 meat meal. It came with 2 sides and a piece of bread. I opted for the turkey breast and sliced brisket. I wanted corn nuggets but they were out. Maybe next time? The okra was a decent second choice. It was crunchy and fresh. The mac and cheese was very creamy but could have been a little more flavorful. The meats were both very good. The turkey was perfect! It was very moist with nice smoky flavor. The brisket was nice. I've had better but also had worse. They offered both hot and regular bbq sauce. They were excellent! I tried my husband ribs. They were tender and fall off the bone.
They had peach cobbler and pecan pi for dessert. I was interested in the pie but it wasn't made in house so I decided not to try it.
We will most definitely be repeat customers of Dale's! Give them a try hopefully you'll have as good an...
