El Asadero is a great spot that’s tucked away just a bit off the road. We stopped in for a late lunch and it hit the spot perfectly. I kept it simple with a burrito and it was really good, exactly what I was craving since I was in the mood for something a little more on the Americanized side of the menu. My wife, on the other hand, could not stop raving about her chile relleno. She officially ranks it as the #1 chile relleno in OKC, the only one that even comes close to my Hispanic mother-in-law’s. We visited there a couple of weeks ago and I’m still hearing about how good it was. Definitely a place to stop in for solid food, warm hospitality and great prices.

Very authentic food with great service. My personal favorite is the chili relleno The red sauce on top has an awesome heat that will warm your innards!I eat here pretty regularly, and the only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is the setup. On a good day. The chips are warm and crispy, served with a thick cheese sauce and a good salsa. On a bad day, the chips are very stiff, and/or the cheese is as runny as milk. Last time I visited I had the bad fortune of getting both the thin cheese and stiff chips. Today it’s just the stiff chips. I keep coming back for the amazing chili relleno! The in house made corn tortillas awesome as well!

We came here on a suggestion. We had the molcajete and the 7 mares soup. Both were good. It has a diner feel so I’m interested in trying breakfast. I bet it’s good. We will be back. Service was a little slow. Update: had the seafood Empanadas. And you would think ummmmm maybe not so much. Let me tell you this is some of the best food I’ve ever had. The flavors there were on point. Like drooling good. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO GET THESE ASAP!!!! Nom nom
