Went back for more! Check out our drinks! When my friend suggested Granny's Kitchen for our regular Saturday breakfast; I just thought "meh, whatever". I was in for a very pleasant awakening ⏰. Upon my arrival, I spotted a former co-worker and said hello.. 👋 . We previously worked together at another full service family 👪 restaurant chain. When I learned he was the GM, I was determined to "not go easy on him" with this review. I was greeted and seated in a prompt & friendly manner. 😃 My friend and I were seated near the door.🚪Any other day, no issue however, this day was cold 🥶 & windy. So in "Karen" fashion I requested to be relocated. The staff cheerfully did so...🤔. We ordered drinks.🍸 🍹 I asked for the Hawaiian Mimosa, my friend had the OJ- (I think, I didn't care at the time!) I was wowed that I could even order a Bloody Mary! Finally, after mentally debating on which option of Eggs Benedict 🥚 I was going to order... I settled for the Florentine Benedict, my friend ordered the S.O.S. While we waited for our food, I observed the staff and their interactions with other guests..(the GM in me).. I 😊 happily chatted with my friend and was impressed with the staff and cleanliness of the store... Eventually I even observed Orlando, the GM interact with guests and staff. Almost like a proud mother, I was so very pleased at his charm and professionalism with the guests and staff alike. Our food arrived and we were wowed with it's presentation 😋 and taste... My Eggs on my Florentine Benedict were over cooked. 🍳 🥚... 😔 I just couldn't not say something, I mean it's the eggs on the Benedict! So reluctantly I told the server. She immediately apologized and my plate 🍽 was taken to correct the issue. I ordered coffee ☕ as I waited. Score! French Vanilla creamer! ✔ My plate came back and it was 💯 perfect! I was so pleased and impressed by the service, food and atmosphere. For a split second I even envied Orlando and missed the job.. 10/10 Bang up job Orlando! When the store does bad... it's management's fault... when the store does OUTSTANDING it's Orlando's credit!

We almost went to Waffle House… but I’m so glad we didn’t. My husband and I arrived in OKC on a Thursday, and by Saturday morning we were craving a good, affordable breakfast. (Let’s just say the hotel breakfast was not it.) We debated: do we play it safe and go to our usual Waffle House for that consistent, no-surprises meal… or do we take a chance on something new? We gambled; and this spot delivered. By 9 AM, the parking lot was already full, which told us right away this was a local favorite. But surprisingly, we parked easily and only waited about 60 seconds to be seated. From the moment we walked in, every staff member greeted us like family. That energy set the tone. Our waitress, Jessica, was amazing…super kind, personable, and the perfect balance of attentive without rushing us. The menu is huge (seriously, study it ahead of time), but she gave us plenty of time and kept checking in. I ordered the Cowboy Breakfast (see photo) and my husband got the chicken and pancakes with a sweet tea, which he swears was the best he’s had in years. Even though it was busy, the food came out quickly. Everything was cooked well…seasoned lightly so I could add a little salt to taste (which I prefer over it being overly salty). The best part? First-time guests get a free cinnamon roll. That little extra touch sealed the deal for us, it’s thoughtful service that makes you want to come back. 👉 Lesson learned: sometimes the “safe choice” (like Waffle House) isn’t the best choice. Trying something new here gave us not just a good breakfast, but a memorable one. If you’re wondering whether it’s worth it; just go. Affordable, welcoming, and delicious. We’ll be back next trip.

Next time: we're ordering breakfast. Based on past experiences with the original Granny's Kitchen in Stillwater, and looking at what everyone was eating today: breakfast is where Granny shines. BUT today we ordered off the lunch menu. My sandwich (turkinator) was tasty, but not great. Hubby ordered a patty melt. Which does NOT come with cheese (say what????) Just a beef patty on Rye (dry! NO thousand island dressing or any other dressing for that matter). And a few grilled onions. Luckily the waitress warned him about the absence of cheese (so he did get cheese), and to be fair: what he got was exactly how it was described on the menu. BUT. That. Is. NOT. A. Patty. Melt. Drinks? I wasn't impressed with my Breakfast Margarita but the Bahama Mama he ordered was pretty decent (also very sweet). I think that was the name of it. Service was great, and I really don't like being critical of the food. I'm just thinking that lunch items may NOT be their forte....but breakfast is a whole 'nother story.

My wife and I were traveling from Lexington, KY to OKC for the Labor Day weekend. When we travel we only eat at local restaurants to experience places we never can get at home. We were lucky enough to find Granny's Kitchen on Sunday as we were welcomed for being first time guest with a complimentary cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll hands down is one of the best I have ever had.

When our main meals arrived, we were not disappointed in portion sizes. I had ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and it was the size of the plate. It was way more than I could ever eat by itself but to add home fries, eggs, and biscuit on top of that. It was so much I didn't eat the rest of the day and don't regret my chose at all.

Granny's was so good we went back on Monday before our flight home. This never happens of us going back to the same restaurant when we travel as we are trying to experience as many places as possible. But that morning when we were packing my wife looked at me and said "I want Granny's again, are you okay with that?", I had one reply "I was thinking the same thing".

When we arrived on Monday morning, we were greeted by Natalie. She was amazing to have as our server. She talked a little about her daughter and her birthday coming up. She was so personable and truly made our second visit worth the trip. You all are truly lucky to have her there serving your guest. With it being Labor Day, I thought it would be slow but it was pretty busy and more people were coming as we left.

This time my wife and I both got lighter dishes as we didn't want to be overly stuffed during our flights. I had the Denver omelette and my wife had the California omelette, they both were great and just the right...

We have been going to the 89th and western Granny’s location since they opened. They know us because we literally have gone every single weekend. We have the loyalty cards, the staff knows us and we have been loyal every single week. Recently, everything has gone downhill so quickly. They have lost good waitresses and that has made it worse, they have new what appear to be managers who are not managing very well and it has just gotten to the point that we don’t even bother. We have tried multiple times these past couple months and last weekend we just had to walk away and say never again. We literally waited a long time to just walk away and go to ihop. The man managing told my husband that we were next, then another group - same size as ours asked - and he said they were next. He sat them. We were clearly there before them. My husband said something and was told sorry, you’re next. So, another group asked - AND WERE TOLD THE SAME THING! Again, the group was the same except one (we weee 5, they were 6, same sized table). Again, with my husband standing right there, they sat them before us.

So on top of all the things that have been happening such as horrible wait times, not receiving some of our items, losing the competent waitresses - we can’t even expect to be seated properly. We are beyond pissed, we left so upset because we just walked away and we cannot even return because the way it is being managed - it is going downhill quickly. So disgusted with how it all went down. And again, the staff knows us. The main manager who’s been there from the beginning could point us out because we are there EVERY WEEKEND. Not anymore. So sad, but it is gross the path...
