I was debating on leaving a review on this place, but this is the first time I've been discriminated at a restaurant. I came by this place for lunch on March 24th of 2023. I'm from out of town, but wanted a quick bite to eat. I love trying local places and stopped by this place to since it was close to my hotel. I walk in and there is no one to greet me, there's no signs saying to seat myself or anything. I look over at the bar and there were people drinking and the server/bartender did not pay me any attention, so thinking I seat myself, I went and sat at an empty table in front of the bar area. I look at the menu for a few minutes, no one came over, I found what I wanted and started to look at my phone to show I'm ready to order, still no one came over, so I thought, maybe I need to sit at the bar, but then an older woman comes in with what looks like a grandson and they sit down. I look over and see a server heading over to them while I'm still waiting at my table right in front of the bar. They get their order taken, and I think to myself, is it... Because they're white? Maybe it's the way I was dressed, maybe they thought my leopard print leggings were ghetto, or since I wasn't white I wouldn't tip. Who knows, I got up and left to the bbq restaurant near by, was served right away, and ate delicious food, I wasn't staying any longer to find out. Not sure if the people working that day are still there, but...
Read moreI ordered a club soda with lime. I was given what I guess was club soda vodka with limes and salt. I told the server the drink was wrong I just wanted carbonated water and a lime wedge. She was like, "oh well you said you wanted a Club Special." I didn't want to argue with her. I was brought a club soda and lime and got one refill. I also ordered a basket of fries which I never got. She ignored me the rest of the night and tended to everyone else I sat with repeatedly. That was cold blooded. I was only ordering fries so I would have a tab so I tip her $5.00 with my card, I don't drink alcohol very much, but my friends I go to Hudson's with do. I mean just because I am not ordering booze or beers isn't a reason to disrespect me. I could have been a designated driver. I left with my friends without a tab. Oh well her loss. Get better help that treat people decent and don't ignore them. I normally like Henry Hudson's. I'll be honest I have had far better service and experiences at the Hudson's near Hefner and Rockwell compared to the NW 58th St location. This is the second time I have had a server at 58th st Hudson's serve me a club soda with vodka salt on the brim and limes. When I just wanted club soda aka carbonated water and a lime wedge. I can forgive the first time the server said she was new or it was her first day and was really apologetic. I went ahead and paid for the drink and...
Read moreI’ve been in the industry for quite sometime and I’m quite confused about my visit at this location. I just finished a shift and got off at midnight and just wanted to grab a beer with my boss. Walk in sit at a table and the bartender yells across the bar “Get your id’s out” and continues to serve people at the bar. I’m not expecting to be treated like I’m at a 3 star Michelin restaurant but that was quite ridiculous. I always have my id in hand when I’m about to order a drink and if it’s that big of a burden then get a door guy. Once the bartender came over, judging by her physical mannerisms, it seemed as tho we were a burden to her. I am an overly polite person, yes sir/ma’am no sir ma’am, and I was the same the entire duration of the visit. Even when we tried to finish an order the bartender would just was walk off and could clearly hear us or just that blind to the idea of decent service she would continue on. Even had to go to the bar that wasn’t even full to get more drinks. Also sitting at a table away from the bar we could here the bartender venting to other patrons on how they hated “dealing” with guests. Guess I’ll try a...
