Slate was the venue for our New Year’s Day wedding. We were told that we would have a large backdrop stand (which I confirmed twice that I didn’t need to purchase), which was to cover up the bar area for our event. When we arrived, the contact person for our event had been working at their New Year’s Eve event and was exhausted. That person didn’t know where the stand was, and once it was found, it was missing a piece, so after some troubleshooting, a friend used zip ties to jerryrig the backdrop in place. I found this unprofessional, as well as disappointing for my wedding day. There was also mold growing in the water dispenser tray, which was disgusting.
Other than those two things, we loved this unique and non-traditional round venue with a beautiful view of all of Oklahoma City. There was ample space for catering, food service, displaying our wedding favors, and setting up the espresso bar we had for our event. We thoroughly enjoyed the space, and despite the two shortfalls, would still recommend Slate for any event...
Read moreSlate is an extremely beautiful event space, especially at night. We held our 20 year class reunion here. The owner Eli was amazing. He was so kind and personable. He was very hands on, ensuring we had everything we needed and that our event ran perfectly. During the event, Valentina (I believe was her name) came and introduced herself to me, letting me know she too was available should we need anything. The bar staff was attentive and fast. The drinks were good and reasonably priced. Eli created a shared Apple album that I sent nearly 200 photos to that played on the two outside screens behind the bar. He also had the center screen on the football games per my request. I was so wowed by the customer service we received all the way around. The bathrooms were clean. Because the space was so beautifully appointed and the tables already had table cloths, we didn’t have to spend extra money on decor. I would absolutely hold another event here. Chef’s kiss 🤌🏾, 10/10, would...
Read moreNice place. Its a event center, where parties are held. The venue has a view of the city that is to die for. The sunset was beautiful. The bar was okay but don't have any sweet wine, dry only white or red. I went on Wednesday evening and the happy hour will be starting at 1st of year. They have charcuterie trays with cheese and meat but no crackers or bread. You must have one or other on a charcuterie tray/board. I was disappointed with that fact of no cruchiness. The seating is nice, it group or private place for conversation. The music was up to date elevator music. I think a 70's or 80's soft music would be great in the space. Old school music just hit the vibe differently with a glass of wine. I will go back for view of the sunset and city below. The space used to rotate but it doesn't anymore. The Eagle Nest back in the day. Miss the rotation to view the city...
