I get the feeling they are use to things not working in this hotel. I had two room , two queen bed suite. Room was nice, large and very clean. Upon arrival to my room error message on my TV in bedroom that only maintenance can resolve. I was not able to watch tv in bed when I arrived which I like to do to help wind myself down but I called front desk, reported and asked that they fix the following day when they could get to remote that could fix issue. The safe also did not work either upon arrival. Only one smart tv and it was in the bedroom, the other in living room was not smart tv. My flight was delayed so I didn't arrive until almost 1:30 am to hotel, so I slept in te following day. I was awakened by rustling sound coming from the living room area of the room since I had suite I had closed and locked the bedroom door as a safety precaution because I am a woman of color traveling without my normal protection (licensed & responsible gun owner) in a hotel. Again I use all of the provided safety features in the room . I open the door and peak out to see a wire apparatus come underneath the door seal attempting to reach the door handle and open the door. I panic because I believe someone is trying to break into my room, I run over to the door grabbing the wire attempting to pull it all the way in the room to prevent the person from accessing the room, while screaming what are you doing? I was trying to look out the peephole while doing so in an attempt to see who was doing this. He was dressed in all black and bent over so I couldn't see his face. He yanked the wire back really hard cutting my hand and twisting ny wrist. Later found bruise on my leg where wire hit my leg. I open the door but by the time I was able to get the door open be was running down the hall and I faintly heard him say I was just trying to fix your tv. I quickly closed the door, heart racing and still in panic mode. I called down to the front desk and asked for bandages because I was cut on my hand and bleeding. I asked them to send security as well because someone was trying to break into my room explaining that they slid something under my door. The front desk staff said oh no they are just slipping notices under door to make guess aware they were doing fire alarm testing throughout the day. I said no this was a wire device attempting to unlock my doors. She was like oh no they wouldn't do that its just a paper notice, and said I'll send security up immediately. So a few moments later the phone rings again and she was matter of fact and non chalant like oh that was just our maintenance man trying to fix your tv. But we will send up bandages. The maintenance man reappeared shortly after knocked, handed me the bandages, said sorry I was just trying to fix the tv and took off again very weird and nervous in my opinion. The desk manager showed up a few minutes later. Was very nice , explained that he was there to fix tv, thought no one was in room and that the deadbolt battery was dead. She never asked to see my injury , never offered to file incident report or anything just expressed that she was sorry thought the room was occupant free. I was still very unnerved by the whole incident. After having the day to kind of digest the following day I reached out the front desk staff again with how shaken and upset i still was knowing I still had a couple more days in hotel and his resolution was to offer me one day room compensation for the mistake. I later went down and spoke with the hotel manager and advised I want to file incident report which should have been their first course of action. They ended up compensating my entire stay but only after I requested because I was so traumatized by the whole episode I slept with chairs braced against the doors and towels at the foot for the remainder of my stay bcs to see that wire coming under the door trying to grab and the handle to unlock the door truly scared me too death nearly. You hear about people being trafficked all the time and I didn't know what was going on ....
Read moreAt first, I started at the Embassy Suites on S. Meridian and it was HORRIBLE. I did not last there more than a day. I checked out without having another hotel secured but it was so bad I could not wait. I did not want to go to another E.S. after that experience, but my friend was at this one and convinced me to stay here. First, they are owned by different people AND IT SHOWS!
Checking in- the staff was extremely friendly. There was issues trying to get my room key set up and the digital one wouldn’t work because the other hotels info would not delete off my phone. While they were trying to fix this, they had some difficult customers who wanted to argue with the staff, but everyone remained extremely professional the whole time and took care of everyone. (The disrespect towards them was 100% uncalled for). They gave me complimentary water and a card that allowed for breakfast in the morning and 2 free happy hour drinks for the duration of my stay (SO AWESOME!)
The room- very nice, clean and the decor was very updated. Plenty of built-in phone charging bases. I was in a corner room with an amazing view. During the thunderstorms, it was so soothing to watch until I fell asleep. The housekeeping staff is extremely friendly and does a great job!
Happy hour- extremely nice setting and snacks. I don’t drink alcohol but everyone enjoyed themselves. I was able to get non-alcoholic beverages. I also ordered food. I got the wings and burger... I did NOT expect to get that much food! It was all so good. It costs about what you pay in town. I expected it to be more expensive since it was in the hotel, but they gave more food than what I have gotten at some restaurants, so that was great!
BREAKFAST!!! - I saved the best for last. If you read the other reviews, everyone raves about the breakfast and their staff for a reason! I have seen Slim mentioned on here several times, and I hope management realizes how much of an asset he is to this company and the success of their food service staff. I would also like to highlight Tasha Long as well! She was soooo nice and pleasant every morning. I stayed for 17 days. Every day, they were extremely welcoming, personable, they remembered my order, helped me when my hands were full... they just went above and beyond every day for all the guests. During my stay, there was a girls softball tournament group here, as well as a police function and kept the staff busy, but that did not bring down the quality of food or service. They, alone, earned this hotel a 5/5!!! The women who bussed the tables were very friendly as well. Yes the food service supervisor was nice and greeted everyone, which was cool, but I like to acknowledge the ones who put in the work and not just asking how things were.
I honestly hope you pay your staff what they are worth, or willing to give raises because so many people don’t care about customer service, but this staff really made the hotel experience amazing!!! I’m not a morning person AT ALL, but I did not miss one morning with them. Special thank you the the hotel manager (I did not get her name) who made sure I was good to go when I got here, Slim, Tasha and the table cleaner in the morning (I did not get her name). They all need a raise! I will be staying here every time I have business in OKC, and I have been recommending everyone to stay...

Fact...Having decent accomodations has become difficult across the country if you are a frequent traveler.
Before I go into details about my review and story, I want to give a gracious shout out and thanks of appreciation to Front Desk Representative Leslie ? at this property! for guiding us to the hotel when we were lost. She exceeded and exemplified the highest customer care levels ensuring our comfort and peace of mind with confidence from before our arrival on the phone to our departure concluding our stay. Being from the Hilton family and familiar with the Hilton standard, I personally had the pleasure to meet her and have her get us settled for our stay but, also to observe her with other guests and proud to say that she should be valued employee for the property as a true professional and respectful who listens to the clients and goes out of her way to accommodate the clientele with her "Seek a solution" approach to the scenarios that are brought by each check-in and departure....
That being said...we will reroute our regular travel plans to make this hotel our stop when traveling through Oklahoma!!!
My day in route..... Marriot Tulsa took my reservation, charged my deposit and told me on arrival they didn't have accommodations. Marriot Tulsa and the Corp. reservation center couldn't assist not only to cancel my reservation and issue a refund but also couldn't find me another hotel for their oversight. I decide to continue to travel to Oklahoma City exhausted and unfocused. I call Hilton Embassy Suites south and "Peter", tells me he's busy and can't take time to tell me where the hotel is or answer basic questions. Hilton Corporate reservations tell me they can book a reservation but cannot give me any information, directuons or recommendations for any of the Hilton Embassy properties in Oklahoma City? Finally and thankfully, I call Embassy Suites North and Leslie at this property takes the time to assist, answer my questions and gives us a confident feedback that I need to travel to the Embassy Suites North property she was at.
Was all of that necessary???
What is Corporate America thinking when it comes to customer service? The hospitality industry is difficult to say the least. You have to really be into it to make it a career. They either hire the very best or temporary career hopefuls they can train to adapt.
Marriot failed and I'm switching my loyalties to Hilton Embassy Suites North and countrywide! Outside of my experience I cannot say I'm totally pleased about the assistance I received by anybody before I thankfully got Leslie in the phone. Sad, but this represtative wins by us and hopefully on my recommendation the company will thank and appreciate her as much as we do!
When you plan to stay at Embassy Suites North I hope you are as lucky as we were to have her answer my call!
I welcome Hilton Corporate or Management from this property to reach out to me if you need any other information in regard to our experience is needed. Thank you!! Leslie!! Kindly, Chef...
