J&J donuts — Restaurant in Oklahoma City

I had the worst customer experience at this donut shop. The very first thing I asked was if they had a 1/2 dozen option to which the employee responded with “Yes, we do half a dozen”. I proceeded to pick out a few donuts, count how many I had, and asked if the donuts in the next case over were “included in the half a dozen” because I know sometimes certain donuts have an additional charge. I was told by the employee that yes, they were included. While I was paying I realized my total came out to $10.75, which at that price getting a full dozen would have been more cost efficient, I then ask “were these donuts priced individually?” and the employee says “yes, we don’t have any kind of deal for half a dozen, only a dozen”.

I felt incredibly mislead and deceived. I have worked in the service industry for many years and I always try to ensure my customers get the best deal for their money. Maybe there was a different way I should have asked my question but I have never encountered any issue or confusion in asking if a donut shop provided a 1/2 dozen option, this to me is fairly standard. Additionally, my asking if other donuts were “included in the half a dozen” should have alerted the employee to some potential miscommunication because why would I be asking if certain donuts were included if they’re priced individually. To me, this experience illustrates a priority of driving sales and not so much an emphasis on customer service and satisfaction.

So buyer beware, do not expect transparency and honesty at this business. Be mindful that they may just be trying to maximize...

This place is absolutely disgusting! There are many bugs including roaches! Flies on donuts and other food items. Mold around counters and the fridge in the front. It smelled horrible by the door I’m guessing it was the rug. Black crud around the front. A huge colony of ants around the walls, coming from windowsills. The owner is very rude. She is extremely mean and disrespectful to her workers. She does not know how to run a business. It’s absolutely ridiculous. I understand inflation but the very small donuts should not be over $2! They are always out of donuts even in early mornings. The owner is quick to get mad especially at workers. She took over my order from a worker and messed the whole thing up. And continued to do the same with other people. Some donuts taste of plastic I don’t know why that could be. The workers should go through that with the owner. It’s a very toxic environment with her. I came across this shop randomly bc its near my house. As I've never been a huge fan of donuts.. this place knows exactly what they are doing. From the fluffy+crisp apple fritter, the melt-in-your mouth plain donut hole, the maple bacon donut, all the way down the best-i-ever-had sausage roll/Kolache.. id say I have been beyond impressed and so excited to give to friends and family. The only item I wasn't too impressed with was the peach fritter.. I can't fault them too much bc of the expectations they set with the apple fritter!
