Toasted Barrel — Local services in Oklahoma City

When this place opened I was really rooting for them. Over the last week, two different ladies working at this shop have been very disrespectful.

Wednesday around 2p I walked in looking for something to buy my husband to surprise him. I asked the young lady behind the counter her thoughts on a couple items to get the answer “I don’t really know whatever we have out is what we have”. I thought to myself, she probably doesn’t know a lot about bourbon I totally get it, but I would have handled that much differently.

I then returned Saturday around 3 with my husband. We looked around, didn’t see anything we didn’t own already and asked if they still had an allocated bottle that had been offered to us before again (I get that that may have been an oversight on my part) but the cashier responded with a audible laugh. This girl was in fact a different girl than the first one days before.

I get it, if it’s here and I want it, I better get it… but there’s no reason to laugh at someone, there are much nicer ways.

This is why after 2 visits in a row of disrespectful attitudes in a row that I feel like it’s important for others to know, if you are new to a specific type of spirit, maybe try somewhere else before you come here because if it’s not one of the male owners working then you likely won’t get much help, but rather an “I don’t know” or a snicker.

So this place is fantastic. I am a bourbon drinker so naturally I gravitate to any store that has a decent selection. This place is a fantastic store and looks so unassuming from the outside. Jevon and got to talking about additive free tequila and he suggested I try Codigo 1530. I don’t normally gravitate to celebrity products, but Jevon explained to me the way they do things and the quality of the product. We took a bottle home from his recommendation, I have to say I am blown away. This tequila has changed my perception of tequila. Went back tonight to buy another bottle. Thank you Jevon for all your help, we don’t live very close but you all are out neighborhood go to!...

Ever since this place has opened, I won’t go anywhere else! I pass 10-15 liquor stores when i go here and I’m happy to. Very clean, good music, and a wide variety of all different things were all just extras when considering how friendly and helpful the staff are. They didn’t have something I went in looking for (pretty niche drink), they checked to see if they had a vendor who carried it and after finding one ordered me a case! Can’t speak highly enough of the customer...
