Read moreThe only reason I gave 1 star was because I had to in order to leave a review. I don’t know how this place stays in business. We had the absolute worst experience we’ve ever had in a restaurant. The staff is horrible, especially the so-called manager! We walked in at 2:25 (they close at 3:00) and everyone looked at us like we just ruined their day. We would have left right then but chose to stay only because they are the only restaurant that serves breakfast till 3:00 (other than one we don’t eat at). We literally just stood at the front looking back at everyone until finally someone yelled out “just sit anywhere”. Because we already felt so uncomfortable we ordered quickly hoping to get out of there as quickly as possible. While we were eating they locked the front door early and proceeded to do all of their cleaning. The chemical smell was so bad I started to get a headache. An employee’s family members showed up and engaged in very loud conversation with the “manager” while their kid was even louder. Then at 2:45 they started vacuuming! VACUUMING!! We couldn’t believe it! We immediately asked for to go containers. Once our food was boxed up we asked to speak to the “manager”. She was an absolute nightmare! Rude, argumentative and beyond unprofessional. She was actually yelling and trying to talk over me to the point that my husband had to intervene. They do not care about their customers one bit (the last I checked that is the point of being in the restaurant business - make people happy make money get repeat business = stay in business). She even tried to pass the buck by saying her employee should have asked us before vacuuming. WHAT?!?! Uh no it should be standard procedure that no vacuuming takes place until YOU ARE CLOSED like every other restaurant. Horrible people, horrible experience and a total waste of our time and money. Needless to say we will never eat...
Ever eat somewhere in the morning and it immediately sets the tone for an awful day? Well, if you haven't then you must try Joey's Cafe. First, you can wait 18 minutes in a lobby the size of a jail cell with 15 other customers. Then, once you're seated with a menu, the waitress may stop by in just under 6 minutes to ask what you would like to drink. But beware if you order coffee, the waitress will stop by 4 minutes later with the rest of the table's drinks and explain that she is waiting for coffee cups to be cleaned and then 3 minutes later the coffee will arrive. And then at this point she will take your food order. Twelve minutes after this the food will arrive but chances are it won't be hot-barely warm. And if you're looking for flavor out of any of the food, you are out of luck. Eggs-flavorless. Fruit-mushy and again without flavor. The eggs my Wife order were undercooked and not medium as she asked. At no time did the waitress come back to check on us after someone from the back delivered our food. Instead, halfway through my meal I had to wave another waiter in order to get a napkin, hot sauce(because the food had no taste and their salt and pepper did not help) and ketchup for my son. Btw, the ketchup will remind you of red water. My kid wouldn't even eat his eggs and he put the ketchup on them. And as I was halfway through my pancakes, 3 dark hairs were found on the plate. Very terrible experience, but wait for the bill. The chocolate milk my son order came to $3.99. So with his $6.99 breakfast and $3.99 chocolate milk, my son's meal was actually more than my omelette meal. I have no clue how this was rated at a 4.1 on...
Read moreThe service at this place is below sub-par, to say the least! To start off: our waitress, who kept claiming that she was "new," had to be reminded several times for things that we had asked for upon arrival. She seemed to have trouble remembering simple things, like bringing us straws after we asked for them THREE TIMES (it took us about 50 minutes to finally get them). Personally, I think that she was either hungover or strung out on drugs...who knows. The food was...ok. One of my friends found a hair in her salad, and another friend's coffee was sent back once for being cold, and came back STILL cold, at which point she took it to the kitchen and had it microwaved. Somehow, both of those coffees - and then another three more coffees - appeared randomly on all of our receipts, even though only two of the five of us ordered a coffee. When we brought up these issues to the manager of the restaurant, she seemed upset and very defensive. Instead of compensating us for the horrible service we received, she proceeded to argue with us - exclaiming that we were trying to eat for free, and that we would be charged for the barely eaten salad and the extra coffee. She caused a huge scene in the restaurant, yelling at all of us to get out, which was quite embarrassing, considering that the place was packed at this point. We ended up paying for everything and then leaving, while the manager yelled that we were never welcome back, and the whole restaurant watched. The waitress never offered any kind of apology, either. Needless to say, I will never return to this dump of a place, and I do not recommend it to you OR your...
