I see someone blurred the photo of photo of my receipt from yesterday 6/6/2024. Don't order here unless you speak their whatever dialect of whatever language they speak and like Mexican soft white stuff that looks like shredded cheese (I think it was called crema fresco) and has no taste-a tiny amount was on my refried beans or I wouldn't know. Don't order anything crunchy to go or it will be soggy very soon. On 6/5/2024 at about 2:30pm I had to tell the waitress 3 times I wanted lettuce and cheese but not tomatoes or sour cream on my tostadas and I had to tell her at least twice I want beans and chicken on them, gees. I made the mistake of asking if they have shredded cheddar cheese I could have instead of the white stuff and I ended up with no cheese at all somehow! $34.52 on food and I tipped her $8.40 and I get to my mom's hotel room across the bridge and saw multiple problems. My two tostadas didn't have any (what I call cheese) on them. Also they were stacked on each other and meshed because liquid from the food- probably more chicken juice than water from lettuce. The shells were already soggy when I called them to ask why they left the "cheese" off and it got worse as I ate. Oh and when I called the woman who answered claimed to look at the notes for the ticket and said it says no cheese so I hung up on her because I was fed up for the day because I know what I told the waitress and I had other problems to deal with. I had a hard time getting it translated so I had to look up each word separately, and i think its mispelled on the receipt as well, but the internet seems to say Lechuga is lettuce and then the next line Nomaa Lechiga Arriba seems to mean no lettuce above, so it is contradictory and nothing to do with cheese. My mom lived in Texas for awhile and said she thinks the second line word Arriba on top. I thought Arriba meant fast. Didn't Speedy Gonzales say Arriba, Arriba, Arriba? The point I knew years ago is that the Spanish language is not Mexican (or who knows what dialect the waitress speaks) -but not enough English obviously to take my order efficiently and correctly. I don't know if any of the could and she's not the one that said she would at first either. In the end I don't like the "white looks like soft shredded cheese stuff " so I used the free off-white looking queso for our nacho chips you get with a meal and put some on my tostadas. My mom had a 2 cheese enchilada dinner that is not listed on the menu that was supposed to be cheese with queso on top. She said it was okay but not as good as some other restaurants. We usually eat in Edmond but I didn't feel like driving that far. My mom wanted what we call mexican food and I didn't see any other Mexican food place nearby on Google maps. I took photos at the hotel but they didn't get sent from my mom's phone so I took another picture of just the receipt for now so I can't post this. I almost always check my order before leaving any restaurant but I didn't feel like it. Huge mistake but the cheese is usually what makes tostadas great and they don't have it. The chicken was great tasting but the rest was just okay and the shells were soggy so horrible...
Read moreIt was decent. Better than some other places. Would I come back? Eeeh I don’t think so 🤷♀️.
Let’s talk service: Hostess was super frazzled. Restaurant wasn’t really that busy. But she was all over the place in an unproductive way. Took forever to seat us when there were many tables we could sit at. She insisted a table needed to be cleaned for us to be seated. We got sat right by the area where they bring out food. So food trays were almost hitting my kids in the head as staff left kitchen area to tables. Waitress took a really long time to come to the table. She took our order before offering drinks. Forgot our drink orders. Very slow to check on us after food was brought. We waited a VERY long time for her to bring us the check so we could leave. Left a pen that was broken 🤣 like it didn’t have the ink in it, it was just the shell of the pen. But we couldn’t find her to tell her it was broken. I luckily found one so we could leave. Staff was friendly. So I don’t have an issue with that. Just very unorganized. I’m a very patient person and easy going. So for me to say something or take the time to make you aware says a lot 🤷♀️
Food: food was okay. I had the carne asada - my rice was cold, my creamy corn was almost cold, my steak was hot but the flavor was weird. The husband had Flautas. They were missing the crunch. Covered in wilted lettuce and it was missing that tomatillo sauce or some kind of sauce, very blank and not great. My son got some massive burrito, it just looked like slop. He said there were parts that tasted weird and almost made him gag. He isn’t a picky eater either sooo 🤷♀️
Cleanliness: Ehhhh tables were dirty for a long time after people left. Women’s bathroom didn’t have hot water… so I question if the entire place had hot water? Also, my utensil package had a fork in it with someone else’s old lettuce stuck to it 💀 I asked for a new fork.. never got one from the waitress. Ate my carne asada with a butter knife and a spoon. 🙄
We spent over $100 and it just wasn’t worth it. Man.. I had my hopes up cuz it does have good reviews.. but yeah.. maybe we just caught...
Read moreNearest restaurant to our hotel. Coming from New Mexico, expectations were for the standard TexMex fare. Boy, were we wrong. They've got the usual offerings, but much more. My wife played it safe and got the cheese enchiladas. I ordered the Pollo mole. Salsa was good but not spicy enough, so they bought out a chili oil. Still not spicy, so Mama made a special salsa made right then and there. Very flavorful and definitely made the nose run and made the head sweat. Plus, she made a bacon wrapped, cream cheese stuffed jalapeño. Very good. Bad news.. they were out of the mole, but Mama made a small quick version to offer the flavor profile. Delicious! I can only imagine what it would taste like after a few hours on the stove. I opted for the bierra style quesadillas, which was a great choice. Five stars for this family run restaurant. Outstanding service, phenomenal food, and a...
