After numerous visits (over 100), it's with disappointment that I share my latest experiences at Neighborhood JAM, which have significantly declined in service, quality, and acceptable management. Initially attracted by their promising menu and convenient Yelp waitlist feature, a series of letdowns have unfortunately marred my recent visits.
Firstly, the portion sizes have noticeably reduced, failing to align with the premium pricing. What was once a hearty and satisfying meal has now become underwhelming, not just in size but in quality, and has become painfully average. The predictability of mediocrity has replaced the excitement of tasting their innovative dishes.
Compounding the issue of diminished food quality is the astonishingly high rate of order inaccuracies. On over half of my visits, my orders were either incorrect or missing items—a frustrating experience that one would not expect from a place of this reputation.
The utilization of the Yelp waitlist feature, a potentially convenient tool for managing dining expectations, has been nothing short of a debacle. Far from streamlining the waiting process, it has paradoxically extended wait times, causing confusion and inconvenience. This misapplication undermines the purpose of the Yelp app and reflects poorly on the restaurant's operational efficiency.
Regrettably, the management's response to these issues has been completely unsatisfactory. Interactions with the manager, Joey, have been characterized by rudeness and condescension, offering no meaningful resolutions or acknowledgments of the restaurant's shortcomings. Such an attitude is unprofessional and alienates customers seeking to share constructive feedback.
In conclusion, while I once regarded Neighborhood JAM as a go-to spot for a delightful meal, the consistent decline in food quality and service and management's disregard for customer experience has led me to reconsider my patronage. I hope this review serves as a wake-up call for the establishment and a warning to patrons to address these critical issues and return to the standards that once made it...
Read moreThe food was average. Went with a group of 5, none of us were impressed. I had read and heard great reviews on this place, so I was willing to put up with the hour wait (even though I was originally told 20-30 min). However, the tall hostess was incredibly rude and demeaning. It was around 11 am, so it may have been busy, but there was a crowd of people in the front trying to check in or put their party down on the waiting list, and she acknowledged no one. I would have been content with a simple “hi, I’ll be right with you”, but we were all standing there in front of her asking ourselves “have u checked in with her yet? No? Ok where’s the line?” And she just stood there, not acknowledging the crowd gathering in front of her. On top of that, she was demeaning when I did speak to her, while I was standing there she answered the phone and took someone’s order and then proceeded to roll her eyes and sarcastically smile while commenting something about whoever just called- right in front of me. I wanted to leave at this point, but I had a group who wanted to try the place so we stayed. I had older people in my party, some who don’t speak English fluently, and was told by one of the servers “this isn’t a McDonald’s” when he said “number 12” when it was his time to order, as he thought the number directly next to the name was how to order. Overall a very “blah” experience, including the food. Coffee was terrible, I couldn’t even finish it. People’s food wasn’t terrible, but nothing special by any means. Only thing I liked was the flight of pancakes. Not sure if this place is overhyped because it is probably the best Edmond/OKC has got, but it really missed the mark for me in many areas and did not make me...
Read moreWe went their for breakfast on Mother’s Day…I already know what you are thinking-don’t go to breakfast on Mother’s Day if you want fast/good service. But I expected a long wait and our server was actually really nice and friendly. What I didn’t expect was to be told we’d have a 30-60 minute wait by the hostess, and then an hour into our wait, check the online waitlist they put us on, just to see we were still group #133 in line for a table! Our estimated wait time on Yelp was still another 320 minutes. I guess you have to get on a waitlist on Yelp when you roll out of bed, I didn’t get the memo on that. Luckily I heard a couple ask to be seated on patio, and immediately be seated. When I went up to the hostess, I explained that we would love a patio seat if it meant we’d be seated immediately. We were never even offered a patio seat, evidently because it was a windy day and “no one wanted to sit out there”. Let us decide that. My mimosa was put in a musty smelling glass as well, I thought it was bad orange juice or something, but the smell got stronger as I drank it, and I finally realized it was the glass itself when I was nearly finished so I didn’t bother saying anything, which is a total bummer when you are paying $9 plus a tip for the drink. 1 hr 45 minutes after we had arrived, I got my pancakes, the whole reason we came here, but the server brought me the wrong ones, it was getting so hot on the patio that we left with my replacement pancakes in a to-go container, free of charge. Happy...
