I USED TO LOVE RIB CRIB... but it seems to have gone DOWN HILL Pricey and Service is ... Absent From the moment my children and I walked in the door, we were hollered at from a table where it appeared an employee was helping themselves to a FULL Plate of RIBS-The Music was blaring and I wasn't sure what she was saying , as her mouth was full of food and she didn't bother to get up and properly greet us or anything... SO I say I apologize I am hard of hearing I can't hear you ma'am, she responded in a hateful manner- I SAID IS IT ONLY YOU ?!! I apologize and let her know we are waiting for my grandparents as well, so she points to a table and said there... I was confused as there were three tables in the direction she pointed, so I pick a table and she tosses the menus and silverware on the table... After about 10 minutes a server came to help us (He was VERY POLITE), but not very attentive. After my grandparents arrived we ordered the food, it took 45 minutes to receive SEVERELY DISAPPOINTING FOOD!! I ordered the rib/smoked chicken plate with a salad and mashed potatoes as my side... The salad was good.. The meat- (Which used to be juicy and tender) was dry and tough... the mashed potatoes were so disgusting and chewy I had to spit them out, my daughter ... for SOME STRANGE REASON wanted to try my mashed potatoes... because they were so chewy she thought she was eating MACARONI and Cheese... We never received refills on our drinks I had to get up every time someone in our family needed a refill and go to the drink station and ask if they will refill it for me. When we were ready to pay, my grandpa went to the cashier, she refused to check him out because she can only check out certain customers and insisted we have to wait for our server,,, who was also training a new employee at this time... so we try to be patient but end up waiting 20 minutes just to pay!!! Meanwhile the "Hostess" and her buddy couldn't seem to keep their eyes or comments to themselves... SO at the completion of out experience- I let the manager know I would like to speak with her regarding the experience... SO here came the rude "hostess" with her slick mouth - saying very loudly and rudely OH HERE WE GO WE ALL SAW THAT COMING... My question is if she was aware of the horrible service she was giving why didn't she do anything about it? Hope she no longer works there, as I'm sure it would boost the moral of the entire facility. The manager WAS very nice and understanding... maybe you'll have a better experience ? But why risk paying all that money for a 50/50 chance when there are sooo many QUALITY BBQ spots to...
Read moreFood was great, service was awful! We were greeted nicely by Aaron, he asked if we needed any kids menus I said yes 2 of them, I told him we were a party of 5 2 adults and teenager and my daughter 9 and 7, we were told we could sit wherever we wanted, we took the big booth in the lower corner. Aaron brought 3 menus our drink order was taken right after sitting down, he asked if the girls needed kid cups I said only one, we ordered 2 cokes, 1 sprite and 2 waters, I had to pull up the kids menu in my phone as we waited for our order to be taken, Aaron never bothered to bring the kids menus or even mentioned them, he took our order after bringing our beverages, our food was brought by a lady with glasses, Aaron never came to offer us a refill or check if our food was delivered correctly. When it came time to pay he asked us from the middle of the restaurant if we were ready for our check I said yes, as he stood in the middle of the ramp that you walk to go to the higher level of the restaurant he asked me cash or card, I answered cash a few minutes later he brought the ticket to me, I was ready with a $100 bill to pay he stares and asked me how much change I wanted to receive back, confused I answered well whatever it is that needs to be given back, ( I had already prepared what I would give him as a tip separately from the $100) he looks at me confused and asked if I wanted my change back in ones or fives or exactly what was due, I said well just give me what’s due back he stands away from our table reaching into his left side pocket pulling out a bunch of money and only gives me 2 five dollar bills, mind you our ticket was $78 and change. I stared at me and asked if that was okay, I said no just give me what’s due I have your tip ready separately, he was confused and continued to give me a $20 bill after giving me the 2 $5 bills and then took it back, I was so frustrated with the whole situation I told him to just keep the change and we left. I can’t even put into words what I felt at that time , I mean for the waiter to want to tip himself when he didn’t even offer to get us a refill, wanting a $21 tip!!! the whole situation was confusing and out of place . Any other time I’ve been here I pay my meals and leave the tip on the table or I add it to the ticket I’ve never been held up for a tip like today. Not sure if I’ll be back or at least not in a long time. Ne of my favorite...
Read moreAte here a few weeks ago on Tuesday's AYCE rib night. Except that when we were being seated just before 9:00 PM, our bejeweled female server with a big pretty smile and diamond studs in each cheek informed us that they were out of every kind of rib. They were also out of brisket. Basically, they could serve us smoked chicken or sausage. But then they ended up skimping on our chicken portions. Turns out, they were now out of that, too.
I suggested several solutions and compromises: Turn off the open sign? Server response: Nope. No can do. Ok, can I get unlimited chicken since you're out of everything else unlimited? Nope. Ok, can we get unlimited sides? Nope. I drove all the way down here from 63rd and N. Western. How about a complimentary side of canned green beans? Nope. At this point, it became sort of a game to see just how stubborn our server was going to be and if I could possibly shame the restaurant into offering some form of compromise. NOPE!
I finally asked if she'd shared my requests with the manager on duty. Yes, she said she had. So I then asked her to go ask the manager if we could at least get our iced tea compt. The answer to that, too, was "no."
I actually do understand that every once in a while, a restaurant offering unlimited anything will run out of it. What I don't understand is an absolute refusal to offer something--anything--in the way of a compromise, or any attempt whatsoever at some kind of reasonable and appropriate gesture. Unless, of course, you've got too many customers and wish you had fewer.
So, will I return to Rib Crib anytime soon? Nope. Will I recommend Rib...
